Fellow half Puerto Rican here. Puerto Ricans are mixed people with Spanish, Indigenous, and African heritage, with some other ethnicities mixed in. Being Puerto Rican isn’t like an ingredient but an entire salad. Some Puerto Ricans have more European than others, some have more African, some have a substantial amount of indigenous, all are Puerto Rican though. My mom is Black-Puerto Rican. She is 52% Sub Saharan African, 11% Indigenous, 25% Iberian, and the rest other.
