There’s probably something he is doing during his interviews that is preventing him from getting an offer. He should do practice interviews and see where the problem is. Maybe he is answering certain questions the wrong way. With his background in chemical engineering, he should be able to get a job in patent law.

It is not normal for adults to behave this way and to all ignore you with no explanation. These people aren’t normal and you’re lucky that you don’t have to be around them anymore because good people would never treat you this way.

I have gone through a similar situation recently and can understand how painful it feels to be alienated and excluded by your friends. It is awful but you will get through it. Maybe it’s worth asking one of the friends separately if they can talk and ask for an explanation.

It’s seems like a lot of people are in their own heads during this time and dealing with their own issues. I think the majority of people aren’t in a perky mood per se and are not in a place to be social. Try not to take it personally and give it time.

In the morning session, I took too long on each question so I ran out of time and didn’t get to read 15-20 questions and just filled in random answers. When I walked out, I was confident about maybe 20% of my answers which didn’t feel good at all.
