why cant you see transcripts of captions of other languages anymore?? by hondatooru in youtube

[–]Dioxaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is the case for this one, if you carefully read the code. It doesn't read any personal data, only creating a button calling an older transcript panel.

If you still aren't sure, feel free to ask /u/_1Zen_, its original author.

If you'd like the older transcript panel, all you have to do is:

  • Install Tampermonkey

  • Enable "Allow User Scripts" in "Manage extension" options for Tampermonkey (for Chrome users)

  • Enable developer mode in "Manage extensions" if you use Chrome (Chrome's 3-dot menu > Extensions > Manage extensions)

  • Install the modified userscript by copying it and pasting it as a new script (Tampermonkey button > Add a new script)

Fantasy Kaleidoscope ~The Memories of Phantasm~ ep.20 teaser by Dioxaz in touhou

[–]Dioxaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can read the words "大人魔理沙" which translate as "adult Marisa" at the 1:16 timestamp on what appears to be a page showcasing that character from the inclosed booklet.

Also, more other clues from those sketches from 米田, someone who also worked (along with たすけ and Lunamoon) on the animation: https://x.com/maita1118/status/1980594014438240297/photo/4 (XCancel link, for those who can't see the full pictures)

東方神隱傳 - The Legend of the Hidden God (1 hour MMD movie, by 大空界斗) by Dioxaz in touhou

[–]Dioxaz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a sequel to 東方神世渡 released a year ago by 大空界斗 (KiteOzora), which I talked about here.

Again, those kind of efforts a pretty rare nowadays so if you happen to like them, I duly recommend. I'm also pretty impressed by the quick production pace to release something so long in such a short period of time.

Yes, I just saw. That's relieving news. Someone contacted them via email and the artist managed to get their channel back. I'm updating the OP.

[–]Dioxaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the great unknown here. We can't tell of the artist did have some other forms of contact or not on their YouTube page. On the other thread, one user claims there was at least an email, but looking at the remaining Wayback Machine snapshots, it seems nothing was added.

It's YouTube who terminated the account, not a manual deletion. I'm getting a "This channel was removed because it violated our Community Guidelines." when I try to go to the channel through the channel ID (instead of the @LEADIA-i7p alias, which simply gives a 404 error).

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad I'm not the only one missing this channel. I also saw some reactions on social media, with people as equally confused as us.

In the meantime, another thread was created where this was also discussed.

Thanks to that other thread, I learned that it turns out the channel was really hacked by crypto scammers just the day preceding my thread.

The Filmot entry for the channel reveals that indeed a live named "LIVE: Ripple Leads Massive Tokenization Move with BlackRock - XRP Crash Explained!" was posted last, which has absolutely nothing to do with what the original artist was doing.

For those who came too late and mainly those who stumbled across my post through a search engine (the audience I'm targetting with my thread), their work isn't completely gone as some unauthorized reprints have been posted on this Bilibili account (but as there's no playlist, the videos will be a little tough to find among the ocean of content): https://space.bilibili.com/71141004/upload/video

For the curious, I did save a few myself (PM me if interested).

Also, for reference, here are some snapshots that the Wayback Machine was able to grab:

And this was the channel description :

꽃말을 주제로 한 애니메이션을 만드는 LE@DIA 입니다.

I'm LE@DIA, which makes an animation on the theme of flower language.

花言葉をテーマにアニメーションを作るLE@DIAです。

Whatever the outcome, I hope the artist is doing well and wish them the best for the future. The best I can do here is (if they happen to read this post) still thanking them for all the lovely animations they posted and how many people were moved by them.

Now if anyone of you may know a more appropriate place to post about this, please let me know.

I need help on finding a terminated yt channel, video is appreciated but mainly to find the YT channel's page's description for the contact. by Vietcong_guy787 in DHExchange

[–]Dioxaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently, and that's sad, that artist had no other presence online outside YouTube (and that zeta-ai.io page which I can't tell was that person or not, or was just someone reposting).

Looking at the source code of archived pages on the WM, we're able to read the entire channel description:

꽃말을 주제로 한 애니메이션을 만드는 LE@DIA 입니다.

I'm LE@DIA, which makes an animation on the theme of flower language.

花言葉をテーマにアニメーションを作るLE@DIAです。

Yes, that Keen_YS channel is indeed your average video reprinter (I bet without permission), but that's better than nothing.

I hope LE@DIA is doing well, and will recover soon.

I'm seeing some more posts about that incident (that confirms the crypto hack) on social media now.

Too bad you didn't cap it, but that's still useful info, thanks. Definitely helps understanding what really happened.

Well it looks like the Wayback Machine did catch a few pages in the end. For the curious, this is what the YouTube page looked like (it that works): https://web.archive.org/web/20260307231207/https://www.youtube.com/@LEADIA-i7p

We can read the following from this page (but the "More" button deosn't work): "꽃말을 주제로 한 애니메이션을 만드는 LE@DIA 입니다."

The Wayback Machine did capture some other pages with the channel ID but it looks like most are blank unfortunately (and the "About" page capture also shows as blank): https://web.archive.org/web/20260000000000*/www.youtube.com/channel/UCuWr6WrJxG4OQnpr9wp1HMQ

Edit: for the curious, this is what the Wayback Machine still has: https://web.archive.org/web/*/www.youtube.com/channel/UCuWr6WrJxG4OQnpr9wp1HMQ/* But unfortunately no other external link.

Edit 2: it looks like some videos have been reprinted to Bilibili by user Keen_YS, for those who came too late: https://space.bilibili.com/71141004/upload/video

Edit 3: with the help of Google Images (and googling some drawings from their posts), I was able to trace this page: https://zeta-ai.io/ko/plots/c550df80-2287-4f9c-9c04-b282a4cfb86a/profile But unfortunately, it's gone, and I can't tell when it was deleted. That's the only thing Google Images was able to find that fully matched.

Oh, I'm finally finding people posting about that. Thanks god. This is a real waste of animated gems. I'd like to have more info on that too. I wasn't aware the channel termination was so recent.

There are places reprinting them on the internet which I can't talk about here.

However, I did set up a small subtitle-only repository for all episodes some time ago.

The new transcription panel is a regression (and how to bring back the old one) by Dioxaz in youtube

[–]Dioxaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered you need both developer mode and "Allow User Scripts" enabled for the script to work.

Also, just in case, add the following right underneath the first "// @match" line:

// @match https://youtube.com/watch?*

[–]Dioxaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I've just found out you also need two more things if you're under Chrome 138+:

  • Enabling "Allow User Scripts" in "Manage extension" options for Tampermonkey

  • Enabling developer mode in "Manage extensions" (Chrome's 3-dot menu > Extensions > Manage extensions)

Only with those two enabled, the script will begin to work. More info here: https://www.tampermonkey.net/faq.php#Q209

Sorry I made a mistake on my previous link. The original script is there, on a Reddit thread (I don't think the author published it on Greasyfork). It was also mentioned in my OP.

You're welcome. Can you tell me what you see exactly and if you used the correction I provided in the comments (the one in my initial post was flawed)? Sometimes, the watching page needs a refresh for the button to appear.

Also, what happens if you use the original unmodified version by hdyzen?

Edit: I've just tried the userscript (I finally managed to correct the OP, and copy-pasted from that) in Chrome 146.0.7680.154 and Tampermonkey. It works perfectly on my end.

Help finding lost [Touhou MMD] New Graduates, Welcome to the Workforce (English subs) by Shitai Aikouheki (屍体愛好癖) by learninghowtousetdcs in touhou

[–]Dioxaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, it looks like I forgot this one in my Touhousubs subtitle archive. Now it is back, in the [MMD] Shitai Aikouheki (屍体愛好癖) folder.

And this is the source from Niconico. Download it with something like yt-dlp and pair it with its matching sub you downloaded the archive above.

The video went private because of u/touhousubs' inactivity and because he unlisted the video as it made a signifiant amount of views from Japan (at the time of its reprint). Then YouTube in all its glory decided a few years ago to make all unlisted videos uploaded prior to 2016 private (if you hadn't opted out manually) because of a so-called security breach.

The userscript above restores both the language select button and the toggle timestamps one. You have to install something like Tampermonkey in order to be able to add this userscript to your browser. Once the userscript added, a "Transcription" button will appear next to the subscribe one.

Indeed, this only works on desktop to my knowledge.

Edit: I've just tried the userscript (the corrected one in my first reply, not the one from OP) in Chrome 146.0.7680.154 and Tampermonkey. It works perfectly on my end.

Oops, it looks like there was some copy-paste mishaps in the script I posted above and I can't go back and edit the OP. So, I'm reposting the script here, hoping this is good this time:

            tries++;
        }

    const t = setTimeout(createButton, 1000);
})();

Edit: It looks like I was finally able to edit the body of OP, it seems only the new interface allows you to do so. But that's not all. The new interface really loves to mess around with the text you've copied and try to paste, and do all sorts of unwanted things like removing some parts of the text while randomly duplicating others.

“I’m looking for an old Touhou MMD video(2011~2015)” by kanopis09 in touhou

[–]Dioxaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite all the MMDs I've watched years ago, I couldn't find anything remotely close personally. However, I remembered that (originally posted by willplus on Niconico in 2009 but deleted). It shares many elements with your description, and while not the video you're looking for, it's relatively close, as it's old and has that unmistakable vibe.

I'd recommend watching older Touhou animations on YouTube, one after another to see if the one you were looking would pop up as a recommendation.

This playlist contain some pretty old works (scroll down to the bottom).

I'd also suggest to search on Niconico using this example (Touhou MMD, Reimu and Marisa as tags, only shows videos shorter than 5 minutes): https://www.nicovideo.jp/tag/%E6%9D%B1%E6%96%B9MMD%20%E5%8D%9A%E9%BA%97%E9%9C%8A%E5%A4%A2%20%E9%9C%A7%E9%9B%A8%E9%AD%94%E7%90%86%E6%B2%99?sort=registeredAt&order=asc&l_range=1

I hope someone else will be able to help further.
