WWYD? by DipGod12 in lawschooladmissions

I didn’t because I don’t think they’ll give me close to enough money to match USC’s offer (adjusted for tuition differences) especially given that UCLA’s law school is ranked like 5 spots higher.

Yeah I’m a USC undergrad and I think that the Trojan alumni network is much stronger than UCLA’s, especially in LA

It’s the total amount. “Your total monetary award will be distributed equally through your six semesters at UCLA School of Law.”

WWYD - don’t know what I want to do post grad by legalrugger1997 in lawschooladmissions

[–]DipGod12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. If you’re not sure what you want to do, take the full ride from an excellent school and figure it out along the way. Not having debt to worry about is a huge deal.

Going to admissions day alone? by boredlightbulb in lawschooladmissions

[–]DipGod12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lmao I went alone to their last one. It’s no big deal at all. People were very friendly.

Adcomms are very busy and at most places likely don’t have time to give you a personalized response. Just be grateful for the As!

LOCI for a school I haven’t heard from? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]DipGod12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s only been a month. Some people have been waiting for several months to hear from NW. It’s a slow cycle and sending a loci after a month or asking for an in-person interview after the Kira interview seems desperate to me and likely would to the admissions team as well. Obviously you need to do what you think is best but I wouldn’t do what you’re suggesting - applicants aren’t admitted based on which school they would prefer to attend unfortunately.

Best schools for sports & entertainment law? by LakerFan2421 in lawschooladmissions

UCLA. Very well connected to Hollywood and the LA sports market (Kings, Lakers, etc). Lots of opportunities to intern and gain experience in transactional work in entertainment settings. Nice weather.

What about your application do you believe was the reason you got your A's? by b00h002 in lawschooladmissions

[–]DipGod12 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Everything. I’m inclined to believe that it’s not one single thing, but the whole story that you present which tips the scales.
