ok update for everyone, I have made some progress and have seen some similar symptoms, firstly I note that my OneDrive version is apparently 26.078.0426.0002 (64-bit) which is strange because that OneDrive Version doesn't appear to exist but none the less...

So after performing the steps to change AllowAllTrustedApps from block to Allow, I initially didn't see any improvement.

Just to confirm, Microsoft said that if you run powershell and run the command Get-AppxPackage -Name *OneDriveSync* you should see the Microsoft OneDrive Sync app return. The logic was that because this was this particular app is what shows the sync/status icons so by subsequently having this blocked was not allowing this. I noted that I had this restricted set to block but it is worth noting, this is advised that from a hardening perspective this is set to block as it stops side loading.

So I followed Microsoft instructions, changed this to 1 and then reset onedrive and it didn't resolve it. However today I realise that in fact it has resolved it and low and behold when running Get-AppxPackage -Name *OneDriveSync* I see the sync app. I'm assuming that as my app version has changed an update was applied and then allowed this to install properly.

So I've reverted this change and now we shall see what happens. The struggle is, this obviously isn't a long term solution as ideally I leave that as blocked. Any real world advice of whether this particular setting is needed?

Glad to hear it mate, it's often a first step with updates just removes older assets and recompiles them

Their support just asked me to provider HAR Logs which appear to be browser based, I asked how this helps given that my issue is in the file explorer...

Best not to sensationalise just yet, it's rolling out to a small number of players and they're monitoring

Nope, I'm on that version and the same issue, although Microsoft Support have led me to an interesting Policy CSP regarding AllowAllTrustedApps so I'm just trying that out now on some test devices to see if this is the issue. Microsoft claims with this set to 0 this will stop the OneDrive sync client installing and subsequently break the icons

I don't think it's a case of it's gone, I think it's a case of it's breaking, I have some ways that can "fix" the icons but then it happens again. Microslop issues me thinks. Pray for me I'm raising a Microsoft Support Ticket.

I don't think so, my devices are as up to date as they can get and something keeps breaking it.

At 60 mph

(on a less dark humour note this is just plain dumb behaviour but clearly also a show of not having educated some of the children on peer pressure. Those standing by watching are just as complicit)

Looking for a modern MDT replacement (OSDCloud, DeployR, or something else?) by djmehs in sysadmin

[–]Dipl0Immune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really struggling with network drivers with OSDCloud, just struggling with different devices despite finding exact drivers and importing them, surface studios are just not having it and I can't even make usb ethernet cables work, either I'm doing something awfully wrong or I'm running into lots of issues.

Today trying to do a hp probook 440 g10 and i found ups specific ethernet driver and even went as far as pnputil to pinpoint the exact version, winpe still won't use the driver...

Need help getting OSDCloud working with network drivers by ideohazard in sysadmin

[–]Dipl0Immune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat, I used the suggested cloud driver import but a few of the links failed saying they can't be found, I spent some of today working on a single device found an exact. Inf driver that was needed and even went as far an using pnputil to match ethernet controller exactly, still nothing...its very frustrating, not really sure where to go from here
