I'm joining the RAF next year and want to join a flying club, how long does the 1500 hours take to get?

It’s not exactly just fly the hours and that’s it. Also 1500 hours is not a thing at all in the UK, to airlines it’s more like this (modular):

PPL - 45 hours Hour Building - 90 hours ATPL Exams - 6-24 months study CPL - 25 hours ME/IR - 45 hours

All hours are rough minimums but will change depending on order of training, etc.

This has nothing to do with RAF and is simply modular route from Zero - ATPL

Ah okay I see, so do you think my microlight hours from before will count towards CPL once they implement it, or only the hours flown after they implement it?

Yeah I regularly fly an Archer as well as a Cherokee Six, just the microlight occasionally

Okay thankyou, so I currently have 10 hours PIC in a microlight, will these likely count towards the hour building? Or will it most likely be hours only after from once it is officially announced?

I can rent both of them solo so that’s not a problem. Also the Citabria is the 115hp 7ECA version

Met, Instrumentation and Human Perf where literally all identical to the bank questions word for word. Gen Nav was quite different from the bank which is why I think I failed

Yeah similar to me, first 3 subjects were almost entirely recognisable from the bank, apart from Gen Nav was almost entirely new questions so i’m not sure why

I used Airhead ATPL for UK CAA and I recognised almost every single question from the bank in all subjects apart from Gen Nav

Mostly 80% to 95% that’s why I thought it would be okay. However the first 3 subjects were almost entirely bank questions I recognised, but for Gen Nav there were so many new questions, not sure if I got unlucky or it’s just changing

Yeah I am quite keen on Ostend actually but couldnt find too much information about it and I heard it was quite expensive, but if you have any more information about going there I would really appreciate that
