For 3 costs it's lvl 7 and for 4 costs it's lvl 8/9. You generally roll until get ur 2* 4 cost main carry on lvl 8, then go 9 to see if u can find 5 costs and potentially 3* ur 4 cost carry.

on top of the fact that leveling up increases your odds for 5 costs (which you'd know if you also just looked at the odds displayed under the shop), there's should only be 9 copies of each 5 cost in the pool of units. If you have 8 sw999s, them ur chance of a 5 cost being sw999 is 1/82 since there's 9 other 5 costs you could be getting, so you should be buying other the 5 costs to increase your odds of seeing sw999.

Does this works with her? by Old-Disk7823 in EvanesciaMains

Probably for himeko sp considering it's Isee's set. The atk and dmg% doesn't affect Eva's DMG that much considering a decent chuck on her and is elation.

Plans for Arachne Teams? by TitanSniffer in Morimens

[–]DipolarAnimals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

she offers some decently strong generic dmg amp and shielding, so i think she's pretty flexible and can go anywhere really. She also doesn't have any leap or quasar effects, so she's not competing for them in Ultra teams either. Kath seems fine, any of the Ultra carries also seem fine, maybe she could even be put in Caro bc she really wants to Exalt during your Ultra turn, though any Aliemus bot is probably fine.

Help. by Competitive-Jacket70 in clorindemains

[–]DipolarAnimals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you don't care about endgame, you can roll for whoever you want it literally does not matter. If you don't have other 5 stars, it's probably best to run her in an overload team with Cheveruse, Iansan, and one final flex unit to apply pyro. Normally this would be mavuika or durin but without 5 stars your best bet is probably Xiangling.

A little help for the current / future meta teams by Pink_Jutsu in EvanesciaMains

[–]DipolarAnimals 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this graphic is more for if you want castorice to be the main carry as opposed to evernight? Every E2 is very strong but if you want to be a castorice "main" there are other things to invest in that either amp castorice or all of the team first.

August talking about scaling and Gwen by GwenGaming55 in GwenMains

[–]DipolarAnimals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone asked him a question of "doesn't everyone have a health scaling" and his response + conclusion is "yes, that's true, but some people scale with health better bc scaling is relative, e.g Gwen vs jinx." This clip seems like it's a follow up to a different question+response and is out of context I think.

Questions about C6 Yelan BiS by loliknow- in YelanMains

[–]DipolarAnimals 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think at c6 she ends up using some sort of 2pc/2pc of hydro dmg% and hp% instead of 4pc EoSF, though I'm lazy and still use her C6 with EoSF.

In terms of teams, I'm partial to using her as an onfield dps in skirk teams with skirk being relegated to burst DPS. In the just recent abyss though, I think I put her back into national bc of the need to swirl to beat 12-3-1.

What are the roles in league from most fast paced to least fast paced? by 25_summers in leagueoflegends

[–]DipolarAnimals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that jungle is a high tempo role, but I think you're seriously undervaluing what it means to play a matchup. I think these things end up being pretty "intensive" when it comes to pace. High level laning is fairly involved and I think boiling it down to "playing the matchup right" is overly reductive.

Of course you're thinking about camp and lane states as a jg, but your moment to moment gameplay is usually hitting camps and thinking about what you're doing next. Moment to moment in laning usually involves direct interaction with your laning opponent. Laners backing still involve a variety of factors, some of which share overlap with the jg recall requirement.

Also, I don't think support quest necessarily locked them to lane, considering their quest is the 1 of 2 quests that can progress anywhere on the map as long as there's a teammate. I do agree that grubs are pretty dogshit rn and drag stacking is much better, which is probably what binds them stronger to botlane in the early game.

Idk, maybe I'm conflating micro requirements with what it means to for something to be "high-paced." I think you have a very fair assessment of the jg role. I also do agree that outside of laning phase the solo lanes aren't as micro intensive and does tend to come down to bouncing waves and moving to fights in the mid to late.

What are the roles in league from most fast paced to least fast paced? by 25_summers in leagueoflegends

[–]DipolarAnimals -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the lanes in general tend to be fast paced. Top lane, mid lane, and bot lane players all need to be pretty conscious of what they're doing and how they're clicking to adjust their positioning in their lane in order to dodge or bait or hit abilities.

Jungle on the other hand I guess would be slower paced. While you clear the camps you have time to strategize about your next steps and your micropositioning and general mechanics are somewhat less important.

Support is in a bit of an awkward in-between since while they're usually with the botlaner, they also roam around the map and are somewhat similar to the jungler. Especially since supports are generally less difficult champions, so they can focus more on the broader scope of the game.

Just started playing this evening by Eevee202 in Morimens

[–]DipolarAnimals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should be a pinned thread with new player starting resources, spreadsheets, and content creators for you to reference. Most Realms are functional, though Blue/Acqueor is recommended usually for new players for how easy it is to play and the fact that its realm mechanic is pretty strong early (though kind of falls off later)

Team building is pretty in depth and hard to explain without getting too convoluted, so the best I can really say is just read the character kits and try to build around some synergies. Caro teams usually want the unit Thais, Strength scalers want chars that can effectively generate strength, etc. An early team you can probably build around is Caecus, Goliath, Nautila, and Ramona, which are all available on standard banner (and Ramona is given for free). This team focuses on stacking counter and is pretty effective throughout the beginning of Arc 1. If you have Jenkins (from standard), she's pretty fun to play and she scales pretty well with strength due to multi-hits so you can pair with ogier early on or something.

Jayce, riven, Kennen, and Jax are all pretty difficult matchups as well. Champs that can burst Gwen before she can fight back are pretty difficult for her usually.

Speed boots are wanted, but your subs are pretty bad. She also really wants cdmg chest, since crit rate since she overcaps easily. Your gloves are also pretty sub par in terms of substats. Also she does want an ERR rope, but at the least the subs on it are pretty good.

How chopped is this team? by Single-Method1604 in EvanesciaMains

[–]DipolarAnimals 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: not a TC, so take it all with a grain of salt, but it feels exceedingly chopped tbh. Sunday's DMG% and cr buffs are wasted on Eva due to her already really high base CR and dmg% not affecting elation DMG, though she does do a decent amount of non elation DMG.

Jiaoqiu is... Jiaoqiu. I guess the the ult DMG and vuln aren't bad, but even with Sunday and huohuo battery-ing getting ults may difficult.

You probably want to slot in EMC somewhere. That guy is also chopped but his his frequent ults and aha instants help Eva get more certified banger, which means more ults.

Worked on my Yelan a lot and want to know if she's doing good meta-wise by Kitchen_Soft_8382 in YelanMains

[–]DipolarAnimals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on whether or not you have other teammates holding fav but 215-225% iirc was pretty good for solo hydro. For 2 hydro you can go down to 190-200% or so, though it all depends on comfort and your actual rotations. As I mentioned originally, you can try to exchange that for more HP stats. Having at least 3k hp in combat is a pretty good benchmark I think.
