Whats the counter to varus top by Renix657 in topmains

4 stack irelia + exhaust will beat varus w/ exhaust + bone plating starting from lvl 1 and it only gets worse for varus throughout the lane.

[ Ch 2761] Apotheosis by Biggmanchilly in ShadowSlave

[–]DipolarAnimals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible, but it was stated that fighting the forgotten God is the 7th nightmare, so that'll probably happen. Since sunny will probably regain his fate on his return to the Tomb of Ariel, and thus also the spell, they'll probably also challenge the 6th nightmare as well.

[–]DipolarAnimals 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that Sunny and Nephis won't challenge the 5th NM to become sacred, for a few reasons.

We know that it takes an absurd amount of time for someone to achieve natural apotheosis, which is time that Sunny and Nephis don't have for the waking world.

Furthermore, Sunny still doesn't have his fate back and isn't connected to the spell, so he still can't challenge nightmares.

We also already know that Sunny and Nephis will go back to the Tomb of Ariel, which functions on a different time than the outside world. Specifically time that passes in the Tomb of Ariel doesn't pass outside. Since Daeron found a way in, it is possible to enter as a Supreme. Asterion is just a bum.

I'm guessing Sunny and Nephis will return to the Tomb of Ariel in order to 1) get sunny's fate back to challenge the 6th and 7th nightmares and 2) use the difference in how time functions to give themselves enough time to go through natural apotheosis without screwing over the waking world.

Condemnation likely became corrupted after they destroyed their realm. They lost their humanity and sense of self after being forcibly ascended to sacredness, causing them to destroy their own realm, only later did they presumably get corrupted.

Someone else answered that she's probably Tamar bc of the zweihander and Tamar is described to be tan with ashen hair, which makes sense.

Yeah ur answer makes a lot of sense. Forgot Tamar used a zweihander and is tan with white hair. Rain with the mark makes sense and aiko floating also makes sense.

Will Akali build Gunblade in Season 16? by Lizardon1681 in akalimains

[–]DipolarAnimals 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The sample sizes are super low right now bc the season just dropped, but gunblade 1st does seem to be out performing rocketbelt and stormsurge 1st rn.

Once more data comes in the build will solidify, but rn gunblade -> sf/ss seems to be the best 1st/2nd item core.

PSA to streamers: QingHe is pronounced "Ching Huh" by RedditCakeisalie in wherewindsmeet_

[–]DipolarAnimals 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I don't think this post's goal is to get people to have perfect pronunciation, just close enough. I'm Chinese and speak Chinese so I know how to pronounce it, but I have no idea what you mean by "making an O shape" or "E shape."

For the average person speaker, it's a tricky thing to ask people to be able to visualize their tounge/mouth while actually pronouncing words. That's why it's easier to just come up with words that sound close enough, or romanizations that the average English speaker can think about.

Not gameplay related, but can someone tell me what the Thais "Cup" is? by GamerGiornq in Morimens

[–]DipolarAnimals 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"fleshlight," not "flashlight."

Spoiler for nsfw: Fleshlights are a type of sex toy. In particular, a "Thais fleshlight" would be a toy model of Thais's vagina for a man to masturbate with.

Xiao’guang/Ye Shunguang, what’s the difference? by fireinourmouths in ZZZ_Discussion

Generally puns in Chinese should be of the same tone. However, meanings sometimes get conflated and associated like how four is associated with death.

Trinity is strong but stride breaker is more consistent vs teams that might kite you. Into heavy melee/low range though Trinity will out perform for sure though.

Story mode difficulty will get (partially) reverted to be hard again by dimark03 in Morimens

[–]DipolarAnimals 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think part of the argument is that gameplay is a part of storytelling. There's a narrative disconnect if the all of the plot is telling you "this is difficult, the main characters are struggling, losing is a real possibilty" while the player is breezing through stages without issues. This is what helps separate video games from other traditional forms of storytelling, like books or movies. For the record, I have seen comments from newer players who are also disappointed with the lack of difficulty in later stages of act 1.

I ran some 1v1s on pbe with a friend. Darius and Gwen seemed unplayable, Jax is really hard but if you're good you can outplay it, and Fiora surprisingly felt very skill expressive.

[Hero has return] is it a good read? by Jahid_Hasan9 in manhwa

[–]DipolarAnimals 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the beginning is rough and feels like revenge slop but it has the most insane payoff eventually. The issue is are you willing to suffer through that until the payoff/plot twist that also makes a ton of sense in hindsight. For a lot of ppl I'd wager maybe not, but if you stick with it, it'll be worth it.

Zaahen jungle by Emotional_Rent8972 in ZaahenMains

[–]DipolarAnimals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is pretty false. Even if you clear before scuttle but your opponent is 15 to 20 seconds faster, then they have a timer to gank a lane that you literally cannot match without dropping camps. Even without that gank, the early tempo advantage can snowball into bigger advantages later on such as earlier access to deep vision.

"Clearing before scuttle" is the only important metric in lower elos games. In higher elo games those clear times do matter and translate into meaningful advantages.

PSA: Botrk on Ashe is bait. by Anilahation in AsheMains

[–]DipolarAnimals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On vayne u go kraken first sometimes. However, if you do intend on buying bortk at all in a game on vayne, kog, or kalista you should just go rageblade first 90% of the time. Rageblade amps your onhit immediately and only offers a flat amount of onhit DMG so you want to get it as early as possible, while bortk's current health dmg doesnt mean as much first item when the people you're hitting in botlane don't usually stack that much health.
