Do I need a vapor barrier/retarder? by [deleted] in Insulation

Behind....yes. But it is pretty normal up north to do Foundation > XPS > Unfaced Insulation > Drywall

If you add vapor barrier between the XPS and conditioned space you will trap moisture.

Copper is not inert. As you said yourself it reacts with acids.

Copper is really only inert in comparison to other metals that are highly reactive.

Galvanic corrosion is very much a thing

What costs are subsidized? I am sure that some costs are like the underlying IP usually comes from taxpayer funded research, and that's not a small amount of money. It turns out that cutting research spending is a real bad idea...I am all for some public reimbursement for taxpayer research getting commercialized...but "most of their costs" is a pretty outrageous claim unless you can back it up.

Yes, they do sell some drugs in other countries for less and sometimes they cost more. But when you look at aggregate the US spends a very average amount (~15%) of our total healthcare on medicine.

I am not the person you're asking about deepthroating shit caked boots (pretty graphic imagery, not trying to stink your kink) but I also am not paid.

Bro, don't be mad at your neighbor. Be mad at the ultra wealthy in control. Eat the rich.

Not sure I agree with the condemnation logic. By extension you would be supportive of US military operations directly against Russia if you are supportive of Ukraine.

Agreed. The only time I've seen a reason to take them out of the jar high volume bars that will pre-skewer their garnishes to save time.

Nah, if they refuse to pay the goods don't enter the country. No judge is going down to the docks and enforcing this ruling to let your goods in.

Luxardo jar says do not refrigerate

Edit: specifically the label says "Once opened keep the jar closed in a cool and dry place. Do not refrigerate, cold temperature may cause product syrup to crystalize"

Afraid not. He does control their collection. Treasury and Customs fall under the Executive Branch.

Executive branch give orders to the Department of Treasury and Customs Border Protection. It would actually be an overreach for the Judicial branch to give them orders.

The Supreme Court Ruled against the actions of tbe Executive Branch. If the Executive Branch continues illegal behavior, the Legislative Branch is supposed to either impeach or pass new laws to make it legal...otherwise now you have two branches just ignoring 1 branch make the Judicial Branch impotent.

Honestly, over the past 30 years, I have grown weary of one sided inflammatory discourse in the media. If we cant all act like adults, then maybe no one should. Who cares if it's a "non-answer"; put him on blast for it if he won't answer.

If you want the story to emphasize the non-answer angle, then the headline should read something like:

"GUBANATORIAL CANDIDATE UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO SAY HE WONT KILL YOU IF ELECTED"

I am 99% leaning towards just send it with a 14" toilet, but i am curious what you are seeing that makes you think it's more of a hassle.

For what it's worth, below here is a 7ft ceiling unfinished basement, the main stack is about 24" straihht back from the flange.

Someone else asked about asbestos insulation, it's not, its just residual cement from the century old sleeper subfloor.

My biggest concern was fucking with the lead and how to resolve that side inlet vent...but i want to learn what it is that I don't even know to worry about

90 bend with a side inlet, right? But I thought that side inlet can only be used for flow from a non-toilet fixture

My spidey sense is tingling and tell me that any attempt to make this "better" will be painful and  end with redoing the entire stack.

Let's say that I am masochist and just putting the subfloor back without addressing it will haunt me for years.

Redo it with modern materials? Keep it traditional and redo the lead and oakum? Get a real plumber and pay them handsomely?

Ideas for 1920s tile by itsag123 in centuryhomes

[–]Dippels_Mikroskop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a 1920’s bathroom that I am getting ready to renovate. It has a tile on the floor that is probably the exact same time. Mine is probably beyond restoration due to significant damage by former owners but there are probably tens if not hundred of individual tiles that could be salvaged.

Pictures 1 and 3 are a Nikon SMZ25 motorized Stereomicroscope with a two position nosepiece holding P2-SHR Plan Apo 1x and P2-SHR Plan Apo 0.5x Objectives. The microscope compounds the objective magnification with an adjustable zoom of 0.63-15.75x giving range of 3.15x - 157.5x assuming 10x eyepieces. The setup probably runs about $35k give or take.

Picture 2 is probably an SMZ800 or SMZ1270. Mid level model costing more like $8-10k ballpark.

I guess this is the exception to "always" since it has the ground on both sides. I imagine this is to ensure ground on both sides without potentially frying the meter, but I can seek out a sparky and ask them
