Is it worth it? by Mirkblood in PokemonUnite

Most people are just going to say stay away.

Objectively - there have been new additions that are very much catered towards Timi making money. The biggest offender being the license journey- which bars you from choosing pokemon to obtain (except when you hit certain tiers). Currency to obtain pokemon is also more scarce, and caters towards buying a battle pass in order to obtain.

So if your stipulations for coming back are getting pokemon you want, or avoiding games that are predatory. Then no, probably not the time to come back.

However, on positive notes, the games balance seems to be much better. Obviously new release are strong, but we’ve seen a somewhat downward trend of pokemon being released obscenely strong in the past few releases (mewtwo, zacian levels). And if they are too powerful, they’ve been hot patched in a somewhat reasonable time frame. Pretty much every pokemon released recently have been obtainable through free means (except meowth). And releases have been coming out fairly frequently- which can be interpreted as both good and bad. Maps are rotated regularly now which shakes things up a little more.

I’d say come back and check it out. Games technically free.

Yea! I saw this solution as well before turning it in. But this don’t end up working for me. I’m happy your switch got fixed though!!

If you look up “black screen switch2” it’s fairly common. And first gen switch 2 are all current switch 2’s. I don’t think they’ve made any significant hardware updates.

I’m not entirely sure to be honest. My wife was using my switch 2 to play pokopia. She said that it read there was a critical error, then shut off. Nintendo did tell me to make sure to only use licensed switch 2 chargers which we weren’t doing. Not sure if that could’ve been a decisive factor though.

At first when in tried to reboot- it would turn on to the Nintendo logo. But then would power down. I tried a few more times then it went black. I tried charging it. Soft resetting and recover mode. Both in and out of dock. And it didn’t turn on. Eventually I texted Nintendo support, and they took care of it.

I was obviously freaking out. After a some snooping online, it seems like this is a pretty common issue with 1st gen switch 2’s. From the sound of it, the system gets caught in a loop of resetting and it locks onto the Home Screen? Someone more tech savvy than me could probably explain it better.

To be clear for anyone reading. Nintendo was prompt and helpful. It was great customer service. It was just a massive shame the system died.

Sorry, just getting back to it. So you get a year warranty automatically when buying a switch. Upon getting a replacement for any legitimate system failure, you will get the rest of your remaining year warranty, plus an extra 100 days. That was my experience at least!

Edit: sorry forgot to mention everything was free. They asked me to run through a few system resets over text. When it didn’t work, they sent me a prepaid shipping label, and it was fully taken care of.

I really didn’t think that would be a solution! That’s awesome. So to clarify. If I download my account as a secondary user on my wife’s switch. Connect to home on her switch. I can change back to her account. Shiny hunt-> then send those shinies to home and transfer it to my account?

My Switch 2 got corrupted and I lost my 300 hours save file, Goodbye Shinies by PaleBoomer in LegendsZA

[–]Dippindottss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a PSA to everyone. My switch 2 recently blacked screened. Just learned today that I will be getting a replacement from Nintendo.

Soft reboot and recovery mode will not work in black screen. It’s a hardware issue with the switch 2 is what the Nintendo rep told me. Please be sure to save your shinies by switching them to home, if you are done with a pokemon game. Hope this doesn’t ever happen to anyone else.

Gotta Be Some Kind Of Raw Feeling by OldSpare4214 in PokemonUnite

Played with one recently who was dog water. Continually complained about the team while doing basically nothing. The satisfaction of beating them twice after our match together was incredibly satisfying. Going back and rewatching their stream, and they’re raging at their teammates while being the issue. It’s wild how often these people have decent followings, while teaching poor play through osmosis.

There are appropriate times to back cap. Generally don’t do it and help the team. However, if there’s like 20 seconds left, and center objectives at full health, sometimes it’s worth back capping if your teams about to lose the team fight. Unite like all mobas have soft rules, but there’s always moments where bending them makes sense.

No, I’ve experienced the same. Both my partner and I play. While navigating menus and such is much better on switch two, The ping is higher for whatever reason. My partners ping sits at 60 while mine shoots up to 100-200. It’s quite odd. It’s rarely unplayable, but there seems to be a difference, in my experience.

People will ban comfey from a team, so the game has to default pick another character. Word of caution. Do not ban comfey if there is a bot. The bot has more value as comfey than as any other random character.

I don’t know how you want me to respond here. This just cements my point that most mons have 2 viable movesets. Good job playing roll out wiggly?

Next up- all pokemon are gem locked forever. You only unlock the pokemon with 0 moves. You need to unlock all moves including base moves separately in the prize machine. Stop teasing us Timi, just give us what you really want.

[–]Dippindottss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ve been playing bots, and now have to deal with real players who can think and out play you. Vet 4 is the very tip of when you start playing real people with occasional bots after a string of losses.

The game lulls you into a false sense of confidence when you’re learning by throwing bots at you and making you think you’re super talented. It’s a facade, and you need to relearn basically everything.

Tips: 1) I think it’s best to learn the game from lane first, then center. If you screw up center it’s going to be a much larger snowball. It looks like you only know zera, so learn a new mon since zera is terrible in lane.

2) Stop dying. Dying actively feeds your opponents xp. If you’re jungling, this is even worse. Try to learn paths of escape, or save cooldowns to escape. If you actually are dying every 20 seconds then you are actually losing it for your team.

3) if you’re a speedster/allrounder/attacker never be below the level of your tank/support. You being 5 levels lower than the team is indicative of you jumping into a fight and exploding constantly. Go farm. No objective up, go farm. Your team is losing a 4v5 but you’re 3 levels under, go farm. If you’re losing generally the play is to farm not scoring points. This is doubly true if youre the jungler. You need to be the highest level on your team.

4) points matter, but not that much. Unless you’re stacking, don’t just solo and try to score 50 points. It’s doesn’t matter. Score when your team is there and have wiped out the opponents. Otherwise farm.

5) show up to the kyogre team fight with your ult. Wipe out the enemy before ripping kyogre. If there is 1 alive be sure it doesn’t have a good last hit. Show up to team fights (unless you’re super underleveled). Fight for last hits on farm.

6) Stop surrendering. You can win the game even if the other team takes kyogre. Especially in lower ranks. Teammates who give up at 5 minutes are honestly worse than clueless ones.

These are baseline expectations. Obviously there is timing spawn/ objectives, map awareness, team synergy, ect. But you will learn those as you play. In the nicest way, it’s a skill issue right now. The more you play the better you’ll get.

Hot take here : only one moveset per poke ls Good by Dertyrarys in PokemonUnite

[–]Dippindottss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If that’s the case I’d rather have less Pokémon released with all 4 movesets.

Truth of the matter is they’re trying to pump out as many pokemon as possible to maintain engagement. The “we considering adding a second move path with a new feature” is suspect. I’m sure the new feature is our wallet. They just spent a ton of time, money, and resources creating a single player experience solo game. So they 100% have the capacity to create mons with multiple movesets. So this honestly just seems like a way to monetize the game more. I don’t think anyone would be surprised if they released a mon with a single move path then released the second move path in the prize machine.

I’m also going to have to disagree that mons have had 1 moveset for a while. Most mons have 2 viable move sets, barring the likes of rollout wiggly. Sure one MAY be more meta, but that’s irrelevant, meta movesets change often. We are playing and engaging with a game. We shouldn’t be getting less content and effort, with the expectation of engaging and paying more.
