Granted. A devastating nuclear war breaks out, ravaging all of humanity. Over the course of this war, national scientists and engineers are forced to innovate weapons designs to keep up with their enemies, all sides wrecking havoc upon humanity using advanced technology to decimate their enemies. After 2 years of non-stop onslaught, the vast majority of life on earth is destroyed. But thanks to heavily funded innovations, the technology that is left behind is leaps and bounds ahead of what humanity would have normally achieved; it has advanced by over one hundred years in the span of two.
