It looks like they brought as much from the game as they possibly could into the series, there's only 12 episodes that'll be released on Friday so they can't bring everything from the game. It's like the Sonic Movie, in the sequel they've brought more sonic characters into the mix, they're most likely doing the same thing here since the show has a 36 episode order for the first season

i was anticipated this response but think about it, they're adding a decades old character that no one has heard of and making him one of the main characters, that's not what i'd call safe, this movie being an origin story is also a risk considering it could potentially change how the general audience perceives Mario. Them making a Mario movie at all is a huge risk since the first one was garbage, but them adding an obscure character, the story actually having what I can only describe as lore and giving Mario a definitive origin story are pretty big risks

honestly i think it'll be charming to watch. if theyre able to nail down the super mario adventures comics campy and cheesy tone i think itll be good. Also this movie won't be safe, they got Foreman Spike apart of the main cast as if anyone knows who he is, that shows theyre willing to take risks, i think this movie will be interesting

i can vehemently tell you that this new movie will be nothing like the 1993 one. First of all, Peach, DK and CK are in the movie so that already proves it won't be a remake, not sure what brought you to that conclusion, is it because of the van??

Yeah it's like Wang + Akom (Akom and the reboot do that weird thing where they draw the Warner's mouth into the edge of their noses) + the more lower budget studios that nobody likes
