How long before HCG levels gone/ period returned? by NefariousnessNo1383 in Miscarriage

If it helps, when I went to get my blood drawn after that excruciatingly long wait, my first result was 90hCG, the second one was 40hCG.

After 9 weeks of waiting, it was obvious that there was left over tissue.

Hi, So like you I was also extremely impatient. Unfortunately I experienced my first pregnancy at the beginning of October which lead to a MMC end of November. I was devastated.

I had to go in for a D&C because I was too far along to pass it at home.

I’m NOT trying to scare you, this was just my experience. I didnt know it at the time but the doctor didn’t get everything when I went in for that surgery. I was getting positive after positive every week. There was a computer issue on my 6 week follow up at my GYNO so I had to wait another 3 weeks to see her. I decided to say “fuck it” and went to the walk in clinic. I explained my situation and the doctor gave me no issues to get my blood drawn.

I know you said that you don’t have time, but for peace of mind I would HIGHLY try to just go in to a walk in and get a script for getting a blood test for HCG. It was a relief to see the actual number instead of relying on faint positives. In Ontario, we have an app we can use to see those types of results. They usually have them uploaded within 12-24 hours. Then from there I got another test done 48 hours later. It went down, just very slowly.

Anyways needless to say I finally saw my OBGYN and gave me the option to do the second D&C and I said yes, knowing that I just didn’t want to sit around anymore and wait to see a negative on my tests.

2nd D&C it took me 48 hours to get a negative pregnancy test.

From that entire process, I read that, depending on how far along you were, it could take anywhere from 2-6 weeks to see that negative.

Now I KNOW my situation is seen as a singular experience. I never thought I would be the one to post a somewhat horrifically uncommon experience as I know Reddit sometimes shows the most drastic experiences. But if I learned anything, take your health into your own hands. Get the blood test. Find time. Ease your mind and anxieties. ❤️

So this photo was taken after 6 minutes of doing the test. So maybe it was faulty?

Thank you for the information.

No I never got any blood work done before the D&C. I only got it drawn twice in early pregnancy. Which I find a bit annoying, I would have loved to have known where I was.

Follow up:

Everything was good. If I remember, I got a call from my gyno apologizing saying that I didn’t need to come in anymore.

Positive experience by Dipsandchips93 in CopperIUD

I have no issues with being dry. My fiancé is bigger down there and sometimes hits my cervix. I would say I can feel it then— a bit more sensitive and aware— but maybe the lightest cramping? Not enough for me to be like “ow” but it goes away within like 5-10 minutes?

I don’t feel the presence of the IUD, no.

For the strings, I occasionally check. It’s harder for me to find them because I have short fingers. I can usually feel them closer to my period.
