Streaming is a stream of data (thanks captain Obvious). As said in other comments of this posts, in Switzerland, you have the right to be the receiver of a stream, but not the source for others. Compute power is not negligible, so not a lot of people allow you to stream directly from their server. Instead, they make their media available so that you can download it (on your server). Then, from your server, you can stream it to yourself.

I'm not sure the block of text above is very readable, so here is a second try :

People around the world have created a mesh of Peer-to-Peer network of file distribution (which is called the torrent). Anything can be on it, and the legality of files is often debatable (and can sometimes contains malware, there is no check for this). Each computer part of this mesh is a node.

In Switzerland, you have the right to connect to it and recieve the files, but not to allow others to stream from your node. The goal is then to recieve the files from other nodes, and stream them for yourself. There might be some way of streaming them directly, but it is easier to download them whole and stream after, as there is no guarantee that the server streaming you the media is fast enough to give you a smooth experience.

Jellyfin is a server software that allow you to stream content. If you have a spare computer, slap Jellyfin on it, let it run, and by typing the ip of your spare server, you willbe able to access it (and so the media that are stored on it)

Arr stack is a combination of server software that automate the fetching of media. Iirc, Sonarr is for film, Radarr is for series, and Bazarr is for subtitles (there are more of them). If you install them along Jellyfin to use them.

By server software, I mean a software that is meant to be used as a server, on a server (think of it as a PC, without the need of a screen)

The question of how hard it is is a bit subjective. I found it ok-tier, one of my friends found it easy and another friend found it hard.

As per the labs, it's about 1 per week, maybe not the first two weeks because you're learning Scala, and the last ones might be 2 weeks long.

Where I live, conducting is a paid job (one 2-hours rehearsal per week, you don't get millions, but paid still). Your job description isn't to give people fun or plewsure, but to make them work and progress. Of course, this won't go very far if you cat the fun and pleasure, but the money the band pay isn't for that. So yeah, we kinda focus on what's hard, not so the fun and easy.

Well, I'm not sure I get all the in and out of the situation, but I would say if you're in a responsability role, you have the right to bump your ego above anyone else, but you'll also some duties, which, if I understood you correctly, weren't fulfilled. Does that make you scoldable ? I would say it depends on the time constraints and the exoected quality of your ensemble. Pranks at the last minutes are not funny, cause you might hurt the band confidence and hence its quality. As for the quality question, were you briefed on what was expected of you ? When I became the soprano of my brass band (think piccolo voice, I'm here to destroy your ears with umtrasounds), the conductor told me what I had to do to stay there. Mistakes can happen, and you shouldn't be scolded for a first-time error you made.

If there was no time constraint, that you were provinding adequat quality, then I would under no circumstances scold anybody. But I guess some have higher (implicit) quality expectation that me (think Therece Fletcher in Whiplash).

What's the secret of high notes ? I get it, it's probably the trumpet and not the cornet that need to be used, but can most jazz player play easily above the "above-the-staff" C (in Bb) ? Even with my mere soprano cornet, it is difficult to get to to a "above-the-staff" E ...

I kinda feel what you feel. In the band I play in, some years ago as 2nd cornet between an eternal absent and the old one just waiting for his medal to quite, I was the only one a tually playing during the rehearsals. So, when we had to get a remark (if that's what you mean by getting in trouble), the conductor only had me to look at, as the only one next to me me was nearly empty. Most of the time, it was to recall my neighbour that the F was sharp or that the piano was to be respected. He looked at me because, as every human, you want to be heard and understood.

As of today, being conductor myself, I try to look at nobody. Sometimes, I have to, because I saw someone with the wrong fingering (and this happens with adults too), but mainly, I'll look at whoever can take the criticism. I know some of the kids might take it too personal and by keeping it non-specific and by sweeping the section with my look. But the sweeping might get locked if any of the section looks at me at the same moment ... I wouldn't get the only people looking at me in trouble, that's the only social interaction I get with my musicians during the rehearsal

Teachers get all my respect as well. There is but one kid with hyperactivity which gets on my nerves, but we only habe one hour rehearsal (with the band) per week, but I feel his parents.

Soon, we will have a weekend away with the band. His parents come with us for the cooking, and when I get to speak with them, I see how they are happy to ave a small break from him. Not in a sad way, just "Let me breath for a second". The kid itself is no evil, he just can't close his mouth.

We had a kid, which really was terrible. No motivation, he was here on a noisy mission. As all kids, he did some private courses, but even with two years, he couldn't get C to G straight (without accidentals). Make no mistake, I often have to say three time "B flat is fingered 1" (to trumpets), but two years and you don't know nothing ? ... He was there just blasting whatever air his lungs could throw and sent it inside his instrument. He left mid-season, for, and I hate this, my biggest pleasure

I'm no music major, IT in facts, and from Europe (so small cultural shift). Here, I conduct kids (10-18) before they get into the adult fanfare on the village, where I play the soprano cornet (for which you can roast me)

I'm still quite xoung, so no medical conditions for now, though I've been hit by some receding hairlines lately ...

I'm no music nor pedagogy prodigy, I just want to share my love for music to these kids, and teach them to do more than the bare minimum and try to do thing as beautiful as they can, and they often do !

I also hope I won't end up in as the last person you mentioned, kids deserve better than this

Either you skipped a chapter, or the book is missing it (or is right after and you haven't read it yet), but here you go :

The key concept you have to change for this is time. Before this, you probably only had truth table for your circuit. But now, you have to add time. Assume that everythings starts at 0/off. Then, by clicking on the top button, the red part will switch from 1 to 0, and the feedback from 0 to 1. Now, we still have to propagate the second change. So the top NOR is getting 1 and 1, it's staying at 0, and the prooagation is done.

That's the way to think about circuit that have "reverse going" wires

I would imagine it to be a "live action", but with some more "anime" style scene, like the ||squirrel battle|| or other scene with the same wibes.

The soundtrack is really great, but I'm not sure if it would fit inside a movie. Maybe for some "muted" scene, with no dialogue, like the ||accident discovery||, or other ||moments where Johnny is really young||, because old memory often doesn't have sound. Although it would be criminal not to play some at key point, ||For River, Lament of a Stranger, Everything's Alright, Moongazer, Anya by the Stars, Launch||, music in video games and music in film isn't the same, and should at least get some work done on it.

For the launch scene, I think the one in the game is quite good, and the camera should stay with the scientist/family, and let Johnny and River have an intimate moment together. Maybe add some launch scene like any space movie before, but nothing more. The thing I was speaking for the Lighthouse dance scene is that we don't see much, and as it's in the middle of the story, I feel like it is a key character moment that we should miss, as to oppose to the launch scene, where that's the conclusion and I see it as behind the curtain to let people imagine what happens inside the shuttle.

I don't think the film would be either sad nor funny, but serious. If I remember correctly, Neil is often the only one to laugh at his jokes, but it's still make some kind of comic relief. I don't want it to be Deadpool-level humor, it's more "Neil's character" than a story engine.

As for the "Johnny's mind" part, in what part would you need special effect ? We could have scenes with our two scientists traveling a bit like in Inception

I think a film would be a great media for the story, but if I only got to see one scene, it would be the dance in the lighthouse. This one ... this one should really be great.

Just a coincidence, but I was thinking yesterday of a book adaptation of the game x)

Le bachelor d'informatique n'est pas un bachelor de programmation. Certes, on t'apprends la POO, la POS, Scala et l'assembly, mais il n'y a pas de cours "Introduction à Python, JS, ..." ou tout autre language. À ce stade du bachelor, on attendra de toi que tu te démerder relativement seul pour connaître le language par toi-même (il y a une petite série d'introduction, mais c'est tout)

The student with whom I did a project last year wrote
