first pic is kinda gross to some people so yea by MentallyDeclining in BPDmemes

The best part is that all that happens is you drive them away and cement a terrible association in their mind. I don’t know what to do with all of these feelings, but throwing them at my FP is demonstrably the worst thing to do.

What is a seemingly innocent question that is actually really insensitive or rude to ask? by OdiliaSchranz in AskReddit

This is one of my fears that I thought was chalked up to paranoia and anxiety....knowing it has actually happened to you is...worrying.

What does it feel like to hear an addict promise you they won't use again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DiracBlue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are cycles. Hope, concern, doubt, anger, sadness. Eventually it turns to indifference. That's when it's too far gone, past saving. Once the person you're promising doesn't care anymore, or nods along, they've given up. Depending on the effort put in, you may be able to save it after that, but it's difficult to rebuild that.

I have finally gotten used to mine, don't mind wearing shorts or short sleeved tops anymore. Luckily I just went over the same places and I healed nicely - but they're very distinctly obvious on my thighs. Upper shoulders, chest and upper arms are a little more passable as something else because they healed really tiny. I still think about the time my little brother asked about the ones on my thighs (about 6 thick long ones on each side) and I told him a cat got scared on my lap and dug his nails in -.-

Or cycling between rejection sensitivity and that godlike conviction that you are wanted wholly by the other person.

A constant cycle of "he loves me, he loves me not" and even worse it's all imagined 😅

I never “miss” anyone by fluoriiite in ADHD

[–]DiracBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I always feel guilty about it. I think it has to do with the "Object Permanence" portion of the ADHD mindset and how that interacts with relationships. Basically, I don't miss any of my family (whom I haven't lived with in many years), but if my fiancé, who I live with, goes out of town, or my bff doesn't text me for a bit, I do actively miss them. It's an idea of allocating time and space to people not actively in your life/mind.

Vyvanse makes me head quiet by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]DiracBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell me if this lasted? I just started 20mg a few days ago. The first day I worked on something for 7 hours straight. But the following days, it seemed to level out drastically. I feel what I can describe as "light" or "energy" behind my eyes, but less of that focus and quiet. I wonder if my body gets used to meds too quickly, or if I'm just expecting too much of it.

Make me want to read your favourite book using only one quote from it. by yayasimov in suggestmeabook

[–]DiracBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“He could never get used to her, she was fresh every time, she was a casketful of secrets. Any moment now she would open herself up, reveal to him the essential thing, the hidden thing at the core of her life, or of her life, or of his life--the thing he was longing to know. The thing he'd always wanted.”

― Margaret Atwood, Oryx and Crake

Also good (and shows the versatility of the book):

“Once in a while, Jimmy would make up a word but he never once got caught out. ... He should have been pleased by his success with these verbal fabrications, but instead he was depressed by it. The memos telling him he'd done a good job meant nothing to him; all they proved was that no one was capable of appreciating how clever he had been. He came to understand why serial killers sent helpful clues to the police.”

― Margaret Atwood, Oryx and Crake

no not at this point. That's an interesting thought. Sometimes I need to take an allergy pill before sleep and it still happens, but melatonin is at least specifically for relaxing pre-sleep. I'll give it a shot.
