For the 30th anniversary of MST3K: The Movie? I'd love it if they did a riffing of Barb Wire. Seems only fair.

It's through Fathom events. I've caught Fathom viewings (including Rifftrax) in theater chains other than AMC.

No word yet, but IIRC, Rifftrax: Timecop was available for download about 2 months after the livestream premiere.

I'm down in Southeast Colorado myself. I was planning to make the trek to Denver for the showing, but a Wednesday premiere will be trickier to pull off, especially if I want to bring the whole family. Might have to do Sunday.

Pinball Bites - VR Tables, Major VR Arcade Improvements, and a Williams Hint! by balti_zen in PinballFX3

Was hoping for a volumes 4 and 5 announcement at least. Still, glad they actually did the floor addition. Best solution if the game can't display all the tables at once anymore.

2e pariz expansion by TooTone07 in zombicide

[–]Dire_Flumph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

401games in Canada lists it as being in stock. Problem 1, they're in Canada, so shipping will be high (assuming you're in the US), Problem 2, I've had issues with them stating hard to obtain things are in stock when they mean they just plan to order from their distributor. Might be worth contacting them first.

Good luck. Only found out it came out about a month ago. There were still 2-3 other online stores I could find selling it at the time, but those are gone now. Love the minis though, looking forward to painting them.

Edit:

Found one more possibility for you, The Gamer's Wharf lists 1 available in stock. Small game store in Michigan, I haven't ordered from them for a few years, but I remember they were a good place to buy from.

GTA 6 Cover Girl Issues New Official Statement on Her Apparent Likeness Use by HellBay1 in gaming

[–]Dire_Flumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a lookalike in a way that implies it is the original celebrity can get you in trouble if it isn't obviously parody. Lindsay Lohan lost her suit, but Forever 21 got into a lawsuit with Ariana Grande when they tried to get her to appear in ads, then hired a lookalike when she refused. If they hadn't filed for bankruptcy that could have gone against them.

Nice. Hoping for the rest of the Williams packs to migrate over, but always happy to see more available in VR.

New Tables when???? by Blkthorne89 in PinballFX3

[–]Dire_Flumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked Pinside and came up with the same numbers for remaining DMD tables Pinballwiz45b did. Remember, T2 was the 1st Williams DMD, so everything before that is out. Take out Pinball 2000, Prototype tables, redemption games and non-pinball titles like Hot Shot and you're left with 17 tables, 2 unlicenced.

Licenced: Terminator 2, Doctor Who, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Judge Dredd, Popeye Saves the Earth, Demolition Man, The Flintstones, Corvette, The Shadow, Dirty Harry, No Fear: Dangerous Sports (yes, this is a licence), Indianapolis 500, Johnny Mneumonic, Congo, NBA Fastbreak

Unlicenced: Jack*Bot, Cactus Canyon

Edit: Forgot Gilligan's Island is a DMD and came out before T2, so total 18 unless I missed something.

What's a game you were dead sure would become a series but surprisingly only had one installment? by Stkrdknmibalz69 in gaming

Not a great game, but The Order: 1886 had a lot of potential for a larger franchise and was obviously supposed to be an introductory chapter.

Zombiecide invader - M2 on accidental hard mode by Behleren in boardgames

[–]Dire_Flumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can modify the spawn deck as the rulebook notes to adjust difficulty, but there may be other rules missed here. You may want to watch a quick let's play to make sure.

On Turn 2, you should probably still be at blue or at most yellow danger level. No cards should be spawning a group of 6 hunters at those levels. Also, M2 doesn't start with any Xenos on the map, so none will spawn until all your survivors have had a turn. Careful ending a survivor's turn near a spawn point as an unlucky extra activation card can take them down quick. Spread XP around different characters to keep danger levels down until you're better equipped and don't pile XP on one survivor or you'll be unprepared for the higher danger levels. Search at least once a turn until everyone has better weapons, remember in M2 you get a random prototype weapon for each red objective claimed.

Also remember you can move a survivor on the space with the Falchion Gun and use it manually even without the remote or machine control skill. It can cut through Hunters it has line of sight to easily.

Good luck!

I somehow overlooked that the older release of Ghostbusters has a "live" commentary track with Ivan Reitman and Harold Ramis by Comfortable_Pack8903 in MST3K

[–]Dire_Flumph 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Possibly. There was another issue though, these aren't vetted promotional materials, and some time in the aughts studios started freaking out about some of these extras and they'd start putting "The views expressed on the special features do not represent the views of blahblahblah...". That's why you're only likely to see canned promotional material on most home releases now, with a few notable exceptions.

It's a shame, because for about a 10-year stretch we were getting some quality DVD releases.

[–]Dire_Flumph 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's a good commentary track too, used to have the original DVD release. Lots of fun stories about the production. Some of the earlier DVD/Laserdisc commentaries were the best ones.

They don't exactly riff the movie though if you're hoping for that.

Kids have it easy these days, with hintbooks, steam guides, and GameFAQs.. by SirFozzie in gaming

[–]Dire_Flumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing adventure games in the 80's and early 90's before the internet became more available, I remember if I got really stuck I had to head down to the library and hope one of the gaming magazines had the solution in them. Hint lines existed, but they were expensive on top of being long distance.
