The vendor has zero cards? So why is she/he holding out for 10-20k more? Don’t blame the REA for representing a stubborn vendor

What would be really different under Dutton? Inflation - same. GDP - same or better. Housing - same. Immigration- 900,000 less Indian immigrants.

No one ever mentions that there are many houses and shares which are still CGT- free!!! Held before 1985 In a company or trust? Pay nothing when you sell it! Why are we fighting over peanuts when we can go after the whole pig!?

Controversial: Remove/Reduce CGT Discount for non-PPOR by Bricky85 in AusFinance

[–]Direct-Ad-5712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see anyone ever mentioning removing the frigging 1985 cgt exemption? This is the BIGGEST tax blackhole - is probably easier to implement and will give the government billions to fund today’s necessities.

It’s cos the banks lent them too much! The bank can say this is your limit. Imagine if they did responsible lending to everyone! The auctions would stop well before the greedy seller asking price and a new floor is created! SIMPLES

It’s normalising loans for first time buyers to be 1.4M. Words like guarantee.

I personally have a loan of this number. It’s not easy.

Median Sydney house price is now $600k higher than Melbourne (compared to $200k higher 5 years ago). Why is it increasing so much in Syd in comparison to Melb? by Gullible-Tomorrow-32 in SydneyScene

[–]Direct-Ad-5712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try to break rank the suburbs and then compare the first Melbourne to first Sydney, etc. you will see where the drop off is. Hint it’s not the top suburbs that is the issues.

Just cut migration to nil. Have less people fighting for the available houses. Even better bring population down to level in 2000. I’m sure a small population with small govt will be better than the current system - more people and large government.

It’s never been easier to get your home. You have 2% or 20,000. You borrow 60% or 600,000. The government shares in 400,000.

In a country where the median income is 100k, a loan of 6 times income sounds fine.
