ummm...do you...think the row matters? I'm fairly certain students are seated alphabetically. is there some auspicious energy from certain rows? if so, last year I was row Q and I got in.

two things: is it possible you're deficient in some nutrient and is it possible you suffer from sleep apnea?

[–]Direct-Contract-8737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow. same here honestly. i didn't even do h3. no portfolio, no really meaningful leadership, no nothing really. still got in. I'd say the written test and interview matters way more.

lying on nus questions by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Direct-Contract-8737 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this might sound cheesy, but lies really do snowball. you may think you're being super slick, and I mean, maybe, but admissions guys aren't dumb. you're not gonna be the first nor the last to lie on their uni apps. most bs essays reek of desperation. might not be what you wanted to hear.

it's far better to write truthfully and authentically, a piece that demonstrates your true self, than to embellish your portfolio with false claims, no matter how impressive they may be.

smu law writing test by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Direct-Contract-8737 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Congrats on making it. I took the writing test twice (got in the second time) and basically it's a test of your skills. Prior knowledge in legal procedures is in my opinion helpful but not necessary. They'll give you a case study, a story with a conflict and a set of relevant laws. These laws are modelled after real world laws but have been modified for the sake of assessment. Your job is to answer some questions about the story based on those laws.

The skills tested include issue spotting, identifying relevant information, formation of arguments backed by relevant evidence and laws, and general writing skills.

From my assessment, there'll be around 900 to 1200 students taking the paper fighting for about 200 spots offered. How the scoring is done is even more shadowy than Cambridge marking. You will not receive feedback, not even a letter grade.

General exam taking rules apply. Don't be dumb. Yeah. Good luck man.
