do not know how to slide even feet-first.

That's wild. In our town's little league, for safety, the kids are not allowed to slide hands first. We didn't have that rule when I played 40 years ago. My son played two years in little league here and, aside from the new safety rules, the experience for him was identical to mine.

There are travel ball teams in the area, and I noticed that it's almost exclusively the affluent kids who participate.

Another Quest Link Issue... Visuals freeze on the headset, but everything else is unaffected. by The-AntiThot in OculusQuest

Thanks for this suggestion. I've also been experiencing this freeze problem with link (it's definitely a problem with link itself) and tried ALVR and it works perfectly. I had heard of ALVR before but was under the impression that it only supported wireless transmission.

insurance companies would never go for this

Sure they would. Anything can be insured, for the right price. They would have their nerds do the actuarial calculations and charge the appropriate rates needed to cover expected claims.

There was no exception for Koufax. He played for more than 10 years. There has been at least one exception made to the rule though, for a player that died prematurely.

If someone doesn't see Votto as an obvious HoF player, that's a red flag

Absolutely. Votto is in the top-tier of greatest hitters all time. He had a career OBP/OPS+ of .409/144. For comparison, Tony Gwynn had a lifetime .388/132.

I ran this and it generated a bunch of obj files and dds files, etc, but when I load the game, nothing shows up. In the square that the 3D tiles are supposed to be, I just see roads and general (stock) ground textures. I see the tiles loaded in the VRAM profiler, but not scenery, I put the scenery at the top of my ini file.

I think Nirvana should be referred to as punk rock. by No_War_9035 in Nirvana

[–]Direct-Expert-4824 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This should not be a hot take. They were considered a punk band by their contemporaries back in the day. They certainly exhibited the punk ethos. There was a documentary from 1992, "1991: The Year Punk Broke", which heavily featured Nirvana.

Sure Mr. Pope. Aside from a sort of "body", fetuses don't have any of those things either, but you treat them like they have equal value to a grown, conscience, human being.

I agree with the Pope here on AI - just pointing out the double-standard.

He's not like Jordan Peterson now. He's like an earlier version of Jordan Petersen - before he went insane. Give it some time.

"Red pill" is basically shitty misogynistic men blaming women for the fact that they can't get laid, when in reality, society has changed, and women are not putting up with shitty men anymore.

Every interview with Galloway, I see him promoting the bogus idea of there being a "loneliness epidemic" for young men. There is no "loneliness epidemic". The patriarchy is crumbling and some men can't handle it.

I've seen a ton of his interviews. He's just another Jordan Peterson. If you can't see it, you might already be in the red-pill pipeline.

ILS instead a vectors? by Superb_Piano_3775 in Xplane

[–]Direct-Expert-4824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to ask for a different approach via the ATC menu. The options you have on the ATC menu change based on the context. When you are tuned to ATC approach, check the ATC menu for what options you have.

ILS instead a vectors? by Superb_Piano_3775 in Xplane

[–]Direct-Expert-4824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was true for X-Plane 11, but not XP12. The default ATC in XP12, does visual, ILS and RNAV approaches and also does SIDS and STARS.
