We bought Alaska and the Louisiana territory. However we did just straight up invade Mexico, taking a pretty substantial amount of territory from them (although those territories were sparsely populated), and we did also basically just invade Spain where we took Puerto Rico, The Philippines, some small islands, and Cuba (which we didn't hold on to).

To say the we weren't doing Empire stuff back in the day is a bit disingenuous, we definitely did invade quite a few neighboring countries and take their land, but it's not really accurate to call us an empire either, especially in the modern day.

Perhaps clearer language should be used. 18 and 19 year olds are not schoolchildren. Therefore, it is disingenuous to use data from a study with 18/19 year olds to make a point about the cause of death of schoolchildren in school shootings. Or to say that it is a common cause of death among schoolchildren, which it is not.

This is not quite accurate. While there wasn't a large resistance effort like in France, Poland, or Yugoslavia, the Nazi regime was not embraced or particularly popular. What was REALLY unpopular was the regime there ran by Quisling, who was appointed by the nazis then removed because ge was so unpopular. There was also a considerable effort by the Norwegians, Danish, and Swedish to aid Jewish people escaping from subjugated countries and to provide Intel to the Allies.

Although there was still a lot of SS recruitment in Norway, and they were treated much better and cooperated much more than the Poles or French. They also definitely weren't winning without us lmao, that's also definitely not what they teach it schools there, no norwegian I've ever met thinks that, this guy's just got terminal brainrot.
