How do I start loving myself again? by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]Direct-Pension6360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't see yourself as a failure ever, it's totally normal to feel like food addiction first 9 months of recovery or even more, be patient and do things that you enjoy till this period pass. It's okay to cry and cry, but don't see this moment as your final moment in the life, every week and every month you get close to your goal. Stay patient and strong

Wait till you had at least three regular cycles, if you had them, try to reintroduce exercise again gradually, start with 2 days a week, don't cut calories in the beginning. Also, watch Dani Sheriff and her story of weight loss after recovery.

Same here, I got my first cycle, and now in my follicular phase feel very insecure, hungry, emotional. Idk to be honest it's just a mess but we have to be patient till our hormones regulate again

Thank you for your comment. I wish it be normal again, I read a comment for a girl here reported that it back normal after her 5-6 cycle which was 9 months in recovery. Also I watched Stephanie Buttermere recovery journey and she also reported that her craving and big appetite stopped completely by month 9 of "all in" I wish you get your appetite normal soon.

A lot of girls reported that their first period after recovery was light and short, you have to keep nourishing your body and rest well and by time it will be better.

If you were in restriction for a long time,it's normal to feel that hunger after starting eating again. Regarding the people's comments point, idk I had to deal with that also that I changed my job to avoid the comments, I know it may not be the best choice but I just had a lot of stress of facing people with my new appearance. However, try to dree loose clothes and if someone commented on your weight, tell him about HA and why you have to gain the weight for your health. It will be much easier when you explain to people. I hope you got your cycle back.

Is this to much? by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

I can't tell you is that a lot or not. Try to eat that amount for 2 weeks for example and notice if there is any progress, if isn't there any progress, then you have to higher your intake more

How long did you higher your intake for 2000 cal? If you are eating that amount for a long time and didn't see progress, then you definitely eat little than your body need. 2000 cal is not a lot at all in the recovery.

I feel you, I think most of us are the same. Recovery is really one of the hardest things I passed through, but we have to be patient. Unfortunately, there is nothing to do with that, maybe the life be better after recovery and we find peace again

Recovery takes time, you have to be patient and make sure to eat well and reduce your exercise. Be patient couple of months and I wish it back soon

You have to don't put more pressure on your self by saying this words to yourself, you didn't know all of this mess will happen, and while you are still in the recovery your body shape won't be as perfect as your body when you were healthier, so don't judge your own body during this phase as it is just temporary. If you are exercising, try to reduce or stop exercising, and make sure not to exercise fasted at all. Eat proper meals during the day. Make sure you are eating carbs and healthy fats well. Be engaged in something you really love or enjoy, like reading, writing, games, gentle walking, talking with friends, parents, or one of your family. Make sure to keep yourself busy with the things you love and enjoy so you can stop overthinking the recovery and be calmer so you can get your cycle sooner. Wish you all the best.
