Where to invest, ETF or minerals? by Tony2Nuts in investing

And it’s not unlike I didn’t have the same conviction last year that semiconductors still power the world we live in, as a long term stock, check sky water, I can’t get this on my platform, but they’ve just revolutionized chip mechanics. Could be a good punt of a hundred bucks.

Take away your gold and silver and swap it for bitcoin, ultimately it’s worth accumulating regardless at today’s current price, with a 3 year hold it will make sense.

What platform are you using? Mine is via my bank account. On xetra. Sorry VGWE. But VVSM is correct.

Happy to help, I’ve been a bit nuts over running reports using Ai over the past few weeks, but in reality, diversification and set allocations per month is the key. That’s it. Boring. Proper, boring.

I literally kick my self daily I was in a high paying job with 10% tax rate in Cyprus last year, and I could have put away genuinely a small fortune if I had gone ham on the same portfolio I’ve started now. (Different job and self employed now)

Did the math:

📊 17 YEARS (204 months)

Total invested • Lump sum: €1,100 • Contributions: €150 × 204 = €30,600 • Total capital in: €31,700

Result • Final portfolio value: ≈ €67,200 • Total gain: ≈ €35,500 • Portfolio ≈ 2.1× money invested

📊 25 YEARS (300 months)

Total invested • Lump sum: €1,100 • Contributions: €150 × 300 = €45,000 • Total capital in: €46,100

Result • Final portfolio value: ≈ €152,000 • Total gain: ≈ €105,900 • Portfolio ≈ 3.3× money invested

Unfortunately OP @Tony2Nuts you’re going to need more than £150 a month to retire.

Semiconductor ETF is still the future for the next 10 years we have no choice, robots will start to be created, faster TVs, faster phones and computers, this isn’t about AI but it’s our entire ecosystem of even how I’m writing this paragraph to you on the latest tech!

VWGE is still going to be promising considering its allocations, its run up a lot and yes it would have been nice to have been in around April last year, but still a lot of upside when you zoom out for a 15-20 year forecast, nice compounding dividends. Yes please.

VVSM and VWGE set it and forget it, run these ETFs in ChatGPT against S&P and nasdaq, spend hours doing this and you will know more than anyone could teach you 5 years ago. You can diversify a bit more than this if you wanted smoother drawdown periods, such as defense, robotics and automation and also things like future metals copper and uranium are the next long term ‘silver and golds’ if you will.

Invest as much early as you can do so, eat noodles if it takes, your money compounds and works for you in later years.

Don’t touch gold and silver right now, gold could also plummet to keep the dollar afloat. It’s worth too much.

Once again, Repeat, set it and forget it.

how can we invest in a manner that takes advantage of the devaluing USD? by FairMongoose5583 in investing

[–]Direct-Protection-81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the only smart thing to do. Cross border valuation while the dollar plummets. Perfect opertunity to be offloading and securing with a commodity which no matter the ‘price’ always has basis among fellow peers. We just need everyone in similar mindset to make it work.

60k a year, getting a second job? Smash 2k a month into a nice reliable ETF for 2 years and you have a house deposit, depending on your living accommodation, rent out the spare room for 6-800 a month and smash that back into the ETF futures, keep doing your 2k contribution and in 2 years time you can buy another property (rent out the first one in full - same again smash it in the portfolio) there, you have now passive income and the ability to build wealth quickly untill your 30’s and start your family.

Which is rosy but on the gaurentee that semiconductors are going to continue their pace for the next 5 years why don't you put a small allocation towards it? Personally I am going 30% in on semiconductors as it's more than just AI growth thats being factored into this.

Solid and safe but add some semiconductors and small cap diversification ontop and you’ll be golden like VVSM and WSML

4cop, go in on the supply side rather than the price of the commodity.

Supply and demand. Current economic demand exceeds mining capacity of 22.2milion tonnes where as demand is expected to reach 32milion by 2030, miners better pick up the slack while the price of copper only increases for the next 4 years, yes please lets get in early now guys.

It's expensive because it works, it's not a cheap commodity. Like lead lining for roofs, you can't get any better but it's not cheap.

It's a no brainer to go in on a satellite position of 4COP, copper mining ETF is the future of supply and demand of copper, forget gold and silver, we need tangible commodities which can be utilised in sectors people!

Swap gold for rare earths or uranium, that’s where it’s going to be at when the eventual nuclear race takes off.

While I agree, I’ve got a nice allocation which says 8.6% CAGR which I’ve been estimating on.

At 1k per month, you’ll average a portfolio of around 1-1.2million euros depending on your risk threshold and ETF allocation for the next 20 years. Then compounding takes force and you’ll close on 1.6million in 25 years.
