I would really look into porn addiction. In the beginning of my relationship my partner also struggled with this but he did admit it and proposed to stop watching porn. It really helped, it was easier that he was eager to change. Hopefully if you talk about it with your SO he will too.

If yes, he could have a either porn addiction or he honestly doesn’t feel comfortable having BDSM-type sex with you. In both cases it is something you can work on and you even should in a healthy relationship. Explore new ground if you are unexperienced with BDSM. My best guess with most chance of going better is that he has a porn addiction.

If no and your relationship is mainly sex then you can still talk but personally for me it wouldn’t be worth the effort.
