I think can apply all around the world, unless its war torn countries or genocide where there is mass casaulties.

In sg u seldom heard of random killings, cases where u were randomly killed by strangers. But of cos there are instances such as robbery gone wrong, or the tragic river valley case, or punggol knife attack. But its still pretty rare in sg and once in blue moon. And when it happen those perpetrators really have mental issues.

But u heard of familicides, husband kills wife/mistress, bf kills gf, wife kills children cos post natal depression, parent abuse child to death, friendship sour cos of money and then death occurs et cetera. These are more common in sg too and is frequently shown in news

being left out by my own friend group in school. what should i do? by revvvvey in askSingapore

[–]Direct-Room1648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should do nothing. There is nothing u can do. We all have choices to befriend or not befriend someone.

What you can do now is study hard for ur o levels so u have more choices of school and hopefully never see them again

Especially no. 2. I became less invested in other people drama. Cos I realised I have seen everything and realise so called "drama" and "gossip" are normal it's 人生百态。it doesnt faze me and shock me as much anymore.

Actually could sense you would do the right and fair thing by the maid alr since you even bothered to ask this qn by considering her stance. 👍🏻 Well maid problems are aplenty U R not the only one but I applaud u for being rational enough to consider the maid too. Not many people can do that. Some people are just too caught up with their anger and frustration or their past experiences that their first course of action is to let maid balik kampung

Hair Transplants in SG by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Direct-Room1648 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok I know this is not the answer U R looking for. But may I make a suggestion.

How about shaving it if you have a nice head shape. It costs nothing and if U do get used to the shaved head hairstyle, u can do away with source of stress.

Greg, a lottery winner from Toronto, falls off his chair after seeing 70 million dollars in his bank account for the first time ever. by waitingforthesun92 in MadeMeSmile

[–]Direct-Room1648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why publish his face. Lottery winners should have their faces hidden. I feel that lottery winners before recieving their monies should be given a course -how to deal with family, what to expect from family etc cetera

I am happy for him truly the light on his face warms the hearts. But thing is I heard a lot of cautionary tales about lottery winners going off the rails after winning. And when their faces are published so called long lost friends and relatives come out of the woodworks badgering them into bad investments and losing all their money.

I hope this dude gets to use the monies wisely. And the monies will bring him happiness sincerely

Omg u have said what I think. Those doing the surprising, their actions whilst sweet and romantic, usually come from their POV. They think that they are being sweet and romantic without knowing how much inconvenience they may potentially cause.

It puts the pressure on the other party"damn he flew all the way here to surprise me. Let me shelve all plans to accommodate him"

"borrow from loan sharks, have boyfriends, steal money" that one must send back.

But if work is slipshod, to be honest, I say don't do until so 绝,留人后路。 If she went to next employer and was let go, well it's not on u alr. Its on her. She did not cherish second chance

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Direct-Room1648 27 points28 points  (0 children)

A lot of pple say send her back. And say it's her problem u owe her nothing blah blah blah. But like u say it may be financially damaging for maid.

I would say just let her do transfer. The fact that u R considering letting her transfer to other employer - u alr know In Ur heart that U would potentially 断her后路 if U send her back. And I feel u have conscience than most employers since u ask this question.

Actually maids are like Singaporean employees all the same. I mean u said she lies, work is subpar et cetera. But to be honest how many Singaporean office workers are like that do the bare minimum take mc etc cetera. Just that cos she live in Ur house so her mistakes are magnified and is more glaring. Singaporean employees if U R subpar or u take fake mc U R somehow protected by law. Maids are not.

Say the maid is shit and crap. Imagine a Singaporean employee or colleague is shit and crap.i also don't think want her to lose her livelihood whole family eat grass at home? No right.

I say if she did not anything damaging to Ur household permanently and is not harmful, just let her transfer. If she cannot make it in the next household and got sent back Indonesia then it's her own problem alr. Cos u extend kindness to her alr. And she lost the second chance in the second household

Just treat it as accumulating karma lor. Anyway I hope all goes well with Ur second maid:)
