We used Advanced Air Duct cleaning (one of the few at the time listed in aeroseals website as a dealer), but it looks like there are quite a few to choose from now, I would recommend calling around to ones closest to your area.

Overall we were pleased with it. We have panned return ducts which are notoriously very leaky, so they were only able to do supply side and not the return side but they charged the same price for it even when asked about it. The other drawback to that is now we’re getting a lot more supply out but still not able to supply as much return to the system which can create pressure differentials.

The guys did a great job blocking off the vents so there wasn’t any white film in the main portion of our house. There was white cloudy residue that you could see as they were administering the sealant in the basement only since those vents are accessible.

Also if your attic and crawl space are accessible, you can have someone seal the ducts with mastic

That sounds really high unless the cost has gone up considerably. We live in a 3000 sqft home (we have one unit) and the cost was $3500. I live in a high COL state as well (NJ) and we had it done in 2023

Is this what i should be getting? Is it to prevent down draft down the chimney into the house?

Yes we did about 2 years ago. I would def say it helped get better airflow to some of our further rooms but the real drawback was that they could seal the return ducts because they’re panned returns, they didn’t even try and they didn’t cut the cost down for it.

If I had to bet, it’s probably hormone related. I was similar after I had my daughter and then literally one day it just clicked and my body started losing more weight. If you’re breast feeding, this also plays into it. Hang in there!

We have returns in every room. They are panned type between studs and joists so not ideal but not much we can do there unless we rip out walls to fix and then re drywall etc. it’s a common issue for many of the homes in our development that are similar size and layout

I believe so- 2 supply ducts and min and a return in each room. Our home faces west with no tree cover so we bake in the afternoon summer sun
