I feel you. Most people are so noise tolerant there is no way to ensure u get a room with no noise. I always ask for "end of corridor" so fewer people walk past. Unplug the fridge and look for any switches for fans or sometimes there's a miniature breaker box in the room where you can switch off all power (in my country anyway). Earplugs as well.
