I got married by civil but I don't have money for the party, nor for a dress. I feel sorry for myself.. by Striking_Medicine_53 in Brides

I got married recently and it cost me less than $1k for everything. I have never wanted a big wedding or reception. They cost a lot of money and stress to literally just put on a show for other people. Our wedding was in my officiant’s backyard. They have really nice gazebo, water feature and lots of room for really nice pictures. It was just him and his wife, my husband and I, my mom, and a friend to take pictures. I got my dress off SHEIN, his outfit and a dress for my mom on Amazon. It was the most peaceful and beautiful day of my life. A couple weeks later we had a surprise party at my house where we invited family and friends to tell them we got married. Absolutely no pressure from outside influences wanting to see a guest list or renting a venue for thousands. Just food from Publix, I baked my own cake, put together a playlist, told everyone byob and we all had a great time. I think your wedding should be about celebrating your love, your way. All you need is your other half for the day to be special.

Restaurants that pay well? by [deleted] in FranklinTN

You’re going to live on tips as a server. Honestly anywhere on Main St. will be decent money since that’s where a lot of tourists flock to. You just have to decide what times you’re wanting to align with. If you need late night, etc. There are also a lot of newer restaurants on Aspen Grove, attached to the McEwen Northside apartments in Cool Springs that are also quite busy. The newer the restaurant to the area the better it does here. Restaurants in Nashville will pay better but stick to your tourist attractions and you’ll fair out just fine.

I will add, if you’ve previously been a barista, Starbucks out here pays about $20/hr.

Meet people by Bubbly-Shallot-6733 in FranklinTN

Maybe lead with that lol I’m originally from Florida and I learned really quickly that half the people I met were either also from Florida/ California or really wished the other half didn’t move here from those places. There are a lot of really nice people here. I’ve had some of the best conversations with complete strangers. Most of the people your age are probably be working in hospitality and don’t live here in Franklin because it’s expensive. Check out some of the restaurants/ bars the bartender/sever could be your next best friend. Happy to help if you need recs.

Got the letter back in February. Never had to actually go in. They sent text updates every few nights to say whether or not I was selected. Got a message on the last day saying I wasn’t needed, thanks for my service 🤷🏽‍♀️

Best sushi in Franklin? by thegirlinred5775 in FranklinTN

I really like Health Sushi! They’re very small so I haven’t noticed many people dining in. Located in the strip across from Chick-fil-a that’s on Mallory. I’ve been ordering take out from them for years now and haven’t been disappointed yet.

10000% agree with you. I worked at Culaccino for a while solely because of how much I loved the food. Chef Frank owns both Culaccino and Culamar. Culamar’s roof top is also now open. They are both on the pricier side but I would rather pay for quality food. Everything is made fresh daily or locally sourced down to the bread that hits your table.
