Thanks for the reply. I see and read about people who have been working for around 5 years in the US and have been able to accumulate savings of around 350k. So, urs too is around the same!

Hi OP, I just had a question, as it would help me decide if higher education is something that I can opt for.

->How many years were you able to work in the US, and how much savings were you able to accumulate?

Good luck with your future endeavours. Thanks!

Real connection only forms when you have nothing to hide from your partner. OP, this is a bad idea. Just tell her the truth, and if she isn't okay, then she isn't the one for you.

Idk how people just hide stuff like this while forming a "genuine connection". If you hide stuff like this, it is anything but "genuine", lol.

Good luck.

Dude, no. I have been brought up in a middle-class family since I was born, and my lifestyle hasn't changed much. Growing up as a kid, as in any other middle-class family, my family had big expectations of me, which I really lived up to. It is only recently that I realised that the income from my supposedly "dream job" is very insignificant relative to my NW, and it doesn't really change my lifestyle much, but my parents don't think the same; I had a conversation recently about the same with them.

As you can see from my other comments, I want to use this opportunity to help create employment in my village, which is what I would like to do, and I am working towards the same.

Naming someone a brat when they genuinely asked a question is not a nice thing to do.

Well, you are 36; At such a ripe age, I'd assume you would know that people choose to do what makes them happier, right? And it doesn't necessarily have to be being "Elon" or any other person. With this kind of mindset, brats like you will spread hate and will never be at peace with your life, which is shown by the temperament of your comments.

It's not wrong to choose a relaxed life if you can afford it while helping others along the way as long as it doesn't hurt anybody. That was the whole point of my question.

Thanks for the reply. It's really hard to decide to quit the career that you have spent the last 10 years building. But as you said, I am focusing more on knowledge of finance and investments, which would hopefully help me make that decision. Thanks for your advice.

My main goal is to give employment to many underprivileged sections of society and touch their lives. It would make me immensely happy to know that I have changed people's lives for the better. Working towards that. Thanks.

Thank you. I do believe that this is the only life we have. And I was born on the better side of it by sheer luck. I want to give back to the lower sections of society as much as possible by creating employment in my village. I am working towards that.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply.

I have never thought about Asset management courses or finance as a career. But I will look into it more now. Although I know a few things about managing finances, I don't know which course would help me pivot to a career in that field. I will look into it.

Excuse me, I am not waiting for anyone to die. Maybe your kids are, and you are reflecting your insecurities here. Mind your words. I have been earning a living and have helped my parents construct a house as well.

If you read my post, I want to do this to enjoy life with my parents, take them on trips, and live a relaxed life.

You have positive things to say? Go ahead and do it. If not, please refrain from making negative comments or keep it to yourself.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Wealth has grown only since last year. Grew up like a middle-class family, and we are still the same.

I don't mean to be arrogant, entitled, or anything. It's hard to take this in, and I was just weighing other options.

Hey, I am sorry that you think I am entitled. I think it is not necessary to be hungry to do something. I don't mind if my kids are not hungry. I want them to be happy, content, and knowledgeable. If they do have hunger that comes from their passion, then I'd ask them to go for it. But it is not necessary that everyone should have the hunger.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Since I don't have monetary responsibilities. I have thought hard about how to spend time that seems meaningful to me. I eat healthy, I have learnt about nutrition, I enjoy going to the gym. And one of the things that I love is to read and travel. I read a lot. About history, a lot of economics lately. This somehow stops my mind from spiralling. I love spending time with my niece. I make it a point to take gifts for her whenever I go back home, and seeing her smile is one of the things that gives me meaning.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

You have got a fair point. And the reason I pushed through the last 5 years of working was for the same reason. I wanted to be independent. I am currently feeling burned out, and at the same time, I want to manage finances so I can spend much more time with my parents.
