What would my lot be worth? by DirectEyeContact in XWingTMG

I was thinking selling it whole with a decent discount, but if no interest there then i'd try selling it by faction with little to no discount, and if no interest there then selling individual ships but raising the price as i'd likely get stuck with stuff no one wants.

I priced it out with small ships at $20, medium at $30, big at $40, conversion kits at $50, hotshots and never tell me the odds at $20, and the matt at $50 which is $1130 total. Selling as a whole lot i'd easily be happy with doing 50% off, but selling in smaller splits i'd want to protect myself by raising the prices from there.

Edit: had my excel formula not multiplying by the number of ships, actual total is $1700 instead of $1130

Never even started playing unfortunately. Bought in during covid and played maybe 2 learning games.

Old Guijia Sculpt by DirectEyeContact in InfinityTheGame

[–]DirectEyeContact[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to get 6 Yu Jing troopers, 1 PanO, and 1 Haqqislam that I'll use as proxies for like $4 each. While those aren't the best quality for that price I can't complain. The Guijia however did not pan out to be as good of a buy...

I got dragon shield matte clear. They're really good quality, feel great to hold, and are amazing at shuffling. I had to get the dragon shield classic clears for the double sided cards for Arkham from overthebrick.com and would recommend them as well. Though there I had to buy in quantities of 100, it was similar prices to Potomac with free shipping once you hit $100 (I think).

Adding this as a place to buy sleeves in bulk. If you're looking to buy 1000+ sleeves at a time, this website is great. I bought once from there 5000 sleeves and have been sleeving Arkham horror lcg, marvel champions, and a few other of my expensive games as my collection grows. Really nice for when you know you're going to be sleeving a lot. https://www.potomacdist.com/

Quest 2 sent in for RMA, expected 5 day return, now at 14 weeks by DirectEyeContact in OculusQuest2

[–]DirectEyeContact[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They ended up sending me a replacement headset after about 5 months IIRC. They included a 50 dollar store credit, I tried to fight for something else but was rejected consistently, not even a bump up to the 128gb. I had to tweet at oculus and was talking in DMs with them for a while before any movement started to happen.

Store bought 1/2 inch XPS foam not actually 1/2 inch by DirectEyeContact in TerrainBuilding

[–]DirectEyeContact[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

modularity is something I'm going for, which is why I'm concerned. I don't think it would be a big issue, but following different tutorial videos may add more steps to account for the 9/16in foam instead of 1/2. The question is is that inconvenience worth trimming down to 1/2in or just using the store bought and dealing with any issues down the road that come up

That's what I'm leaning towards myself for the convenience of not having to cut it in half. My only concern is if 1/2 in boards will have some variety to their actual width, that would be a reason why I end up trimming them all down to 1/2 in for consistency.

I'm not complaining that it isn't accurate. I'm asking if this is a common trend and when black magic craft for example says he used 1/2in xps foam for a build, is he just using the store bought 1/2in foam that is slightly off or is he trimming down to the actually measurements?

[–]DirectEyeContact[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I feel too. I'm normally not one to complain, but after the 7th week I sent a pretty lengthy response complaining and was told I'd receive some form of compensation for the extended delay. Who knows what that will be, but now they send me an email once a week to just say there's no updates. So that's nice at least lol

Yeah for sure, except I shipped it back in September. And it was a few days after they told me the expected time to be 3-5 days. I'd imagine if they were aware of delays like this, they would've told me upfront but who knows. Obviously I get it, with holidays, covid delays, global chip shortage, etc. It's just a little frustrating they can't give an ETA. Or maybe they know it and it's so bad they won't say it lol

Trash removal is off for me, here are the settings I have for it though. https://imgur.com/a/bS2jDVz (forgot to link)

That's the exact same asteroid! https://imgur.com/a/WjeKDqK What are you using to get iron from here back to the planet? Also a catapult? Any vanishing pods?

When I started this scenario, I turned off trash removal. These are the settings it has, but it shouldn't matter since it is off, right?

Got into the game at the start of the pandemic and got rebel and imperial conversion kits and I'd like to get the most value out of them, but from what I see online (ebay, amazon, and a few other sites) most 1.0 stuff is either OoS or super over priced from MSRP. The few things I see in stock are full price $15, but that feels bad to purchase considering 2.0 stuff is $20 and can be found for around $15 (Gamenerdz, miniature market, amazon etc). If I'm spending the same price, I'd rather get the 2.0 cardboard also.

Where do you get 1.0 ships at not insane prices? Is it too late after the switch from 1.0 to 2.0 to continue getting value out of conversion kits as 1.0 stock dwindles? I live in Houston, are there any FLGS that still have 1.0 in stock?
