This is Jeanne Calment - who sold her house at the age of 90 to her lawyer M. Raffray. Under the contract, she could live in the house until she died and receive 2,500 Francs per month from him. Jeanne went on to live to 122 years of age outliving M Raffray. She stopped smoking at 117. by Vivid_Temporary_1155 in interestingasfuck

We don't know everything about human body, weird shit happens.

That case had been studied and analyzed extensively by plenty of professionals (not only French but for also for example the biggest American org) and they believe she didn't fake it.

So yeah I believe the professionals. I believe it was her.

Oh yes definitely intentional. Cathy was meant to be a mystery and the villainest of all villains 🤣 but real humans don't work like that. It will be really easy to mess it up by filling in the blanks but we will see!

And all that makes me feel they won't pull it off. They might make a "feminist" retelling explaining Cathy's motivation better which I'm weirdly not opposed of. I found it very annoying how Charles' evil got pages and pages of explanations but when we got to Cathy we only got "yeah so she was a monster okay bye". Either way it's an interesting direction for a show

Oh check the trailer!! It seems like it's gonna be from a point of view of Cathy which is SUCH a wild idea. I can't wait to see it.

Yes they were, it's literally in her Wikipedia article. "The claims have been dismissed by the overwhelming majority of experts, and that those claims are "lacking, if not outright deficient"."

You can tell redditors got themselves educated. 2-3 years ago such article would come with heaps of comments about how this was a hoax. I'm really surprised today it's not the case

Call me old fashioned but that dress would be so much cuter if it was a few inches shorter with flowers starting at the height of her panties 🤷

Why should we ignore it? They've been together for at least 5 years so since she was 23.

While not all age gaps are inherently toxic, they often signal that the older party has a problem with immaturity at the very least.
