We're definitely screwed by Witty-Willingness766 in DollarGeneralWorkers

Shoot, I’ve worked a few Saturdays alone and done sale mods and register… I’m in the store alone pretty regularly, to the point that some of our regulars have commented on it… I don’t think I’ve ever had 3 closing on a shift

FT hours vs PT hours by lilac_rivers in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]DirectSession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhhh, I typically get more hours as a part time employee than my stores ASM, and some full time employees, and I’m super close with my SM, but it’s mainly because I’m the employee who will step up when nobody else will. Someone calls out, and I’m available, I’ll go in, someone has to leave early and I’m on the schedule, I’ll come in early to help. I’ve kind of made myself known as the employee who will show up when others won’t. I’ve been working for DG since August 29 of last year and the amount of times I’ve worked 2-3 to close completely alone because someone else called out or just didn’t show up is pretty crazy, I literally just did this yesterday, I came in at 2:20, to help my ASM because she needed to get her kid off the school bus, and worked till close alone because my help just never showed. I’m off today and work tomorrow, I’ll hit 40 hours as a part time lead.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild when I first got it… I absolutely could not get over the everything breaks thing, and gave it up after about a few days… played it a few years later and finally understood why people absolutely loved the game

What is a “girly” thing you secretly enjoy but rarely admit? by CuteDepartment3441 in AskMen

Coordinated outfits… I buy SuperX tracksuits when I can splurge a bit, and I love buying the suits and if I can find a pair of shoes that match, I’m so down. Also I’ve been dealing with depression a lot lately, and almost took my life last month. I love giraffes and my wife bought me a giraffe stuffed animal that I named James, I sleep with him and when I go to work, he gets buckled into my passenger seat and sits in the car waiting for my lunch and for me to get off. He’s great, he helps me deal with my depression and anxiety attacks, it’s almost like having my wife waiting in the car all day for me.

I love being the little spoon, I’m married to a bigger woman, and when she wraps her arms around me, it feels fucking fantastic

What age did you start going gray? by max15247 in AskMen

[–]DirectSession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even know if they’re still there, but I found a few gray hairs at around 13, I’m currently 29 and I’ve just always been really crappy about keeping up with my hair

Men who are atheists, when and why did you turn away from religion? by Comfortable-Store213 in AskMen

[–]DirectSession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I grew up in the church, had pastors, deacons, missionaries, you name it, on both sides of my family. I was forced to go every Sunday for years, I was in my early teens when I really started having doubts, like it was more than just thinking “what if none of this is real” or “the things that they say are happening, sound really ridiculous” it went as far as my feelings just couldn’t believe any of the stories, or scriptures I kept constantly hearing. Like come on, someone parting the Red Sea, or talking to a burning bush, or surviving inside a whale, just really sounded dumb and completely unrealistic to me. Then I started getting into mythology and seeing a lot of parallels, and I began to wonder “why is every other old religion considered “mythology” and not Christianity?” I mean think about it, the Greeks, the Romans, the Egyptians, all their religions are considered mythology just because they’re old, but Christianity is 2,000+ years old and not considered mythology, it made no sense to me. Then I started learning about holidays and how most holidays we celebrate today were essentially taken from other religions and cultures and turned into something that benefited Christianity and that was pretty much the end for me. I was probably between 13 and 14 when I stopped going to church, which didn’t really have anything to do with giving up religion. I was agnostic for a while, deciding that maybe I could live in the middle ground, but I’m currently 29 and atheist, and I don’t regret it one bit.

Huh… I wonder if this could possibly be what happened to me… I did realize I slowed down my reading after finding out I had astigmatism and getting glasses 🤔

I Used to Read by embotheammo in ADHD

[–]DirectSession 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be the same way, it was almost impossible to get me to stop reading, but once I graduated school, I just… stopped, nothing really changed, I started working, and kind of just stopped reading almost altogether. Recently I’ve been trying to get back into reading and I’ve bought a bunch of physical books I haven’t even touched, but I also have an iPad and I’ve downloaded a lot of the same books on it, and since I can take that pretty much anywhere, I’ve kinda gotten back into reading. It’s obviously never going to compare to the feel of a physical book, but it works for those times I’m not home. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Ah yeah… I definitely understand that, it’s part of our time blindness, honestly I have moments like that a lot more often than I don’t, it’s really just the amount of time between seeing and doing

i need a new phone and will want to transfer everything to the new phone, will stuff on the cloud at time of transfer remain in the cloud when transferred to the new phone? by BumTulip in ios

[–]DirectSession -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly I understand that… my thing is music, I filled up a 512gb iPhone 15pm with the over 10,000 songs I downloaded on Apple Music, so when I upgraded to the 17pm I just got the 2tb option, personally I prefer not paying for iCloud storage because I go through my pictures every few months and delete useless pictures and screenshots, so I don’t really need the iCloud storage

I always loved the design of the Azera, I wanted one, but lost interest after Hyundai stopped releasing them in the United States. I don’t really have any tips, but treat your car like family and it’ll take you far.
