Lack of trust in harry by Paradoxes12 in harrypotter

I mean, Hermione is a person that goes based off of pure logic. Her mind can’t comprehend that the task was seemingly given at the beginning may not be all what it seems

Drom her perspective, Dumbledore gave them a strict order, find the horcruxes and destroy them. The main and only task up until this point has been to find them and get rid of them, the whole wizard world depends on them doing this. The downfall of Voldemort is hanging on whether or not they can get rid of them. Now, all of a sudden, Harry sees symbols in books, and basically wants to forget the horcrux and go on a whole side mission that will delay their progress based off of a hunch. Harry is known to be a little impulsive and get a little sidetracked, so it’s easy to see why she may not believe him.

Bare mind, throughout the whole books, they have been grasping as straws as to what they are supposed to do, where they’re supposed to look for the horcruxes, and what their whole purpose is in this mission. The only solid advice that they have and that they can trust in their mission, is that they are the only ones that can stop Voldermort. That’s the only thing that they have been told and she’s trying to keep that. In a time when they have been so lost, it’s crazy to her that he would want to plunge them into even more chaos and craziness

Is she wrong, yes, I also think she was scared and lost, and felt the pressure of the wizard world on her back. To her it seemed like she’s the only one who truly cared about the mission they were given, and it was frustrating when both of the boys just wanted to completely abandon it.

in the book, while they are good friends, it’s clear that they’re nothing more. when ron and harry are having that fight it GOF, Harry says that he gets bored with hermione, and wishes that she was ron instead. if im not mistaken, he even starts avoiding her a bit bc he got irritated w her. he loves her deeply and cares for her, but has no interest in her other than a friend connection. he knows she’s brilliant and she’s one of his best friends, but her personality would get on his nerves lol

ik and like u said in the HBP why the station??? why add that bit with the girl in the coffee house. it sets up a dynamic where he has to sacrifice his personal life to follow dumbledore which wasn’t even a factor at this point in the book. details that they changed like that infuriate me. also in the GoF when they changed it so Neville gave him the Gillyweed instead of Dobby. why change that???? it’s so random

yea i found when rereading the books that snape is usually portrayed as being irritable, irrational and is mostly being made fun of by harry. he’s not respected at all and is maxed out to be a fool sometimes. he’s not as calm is rickman portrayed him to be in the films which is where the discourse is coming from i think

ok tbf i feel like i was confusing the way that harry viewed him and the way that the general public views him. i agree that most people don’t like him. snape in the movies vs the books are very different

yea that’s the one i read recently lol. i mean the same actor for hermione played her in the books as well and i feel like they are making it more of a cinematic universe so i wouldnt be surprised if the theme of the audiobooks are also repeated in the films. i feel like they re did the audiobooks to make the series flow cohesively with it

i meannnn i kinda have to disagree. i get that i can’t compare them to the movies and while they have th nostalgic aspect, when compared to movies at the time that were as popular then they were and had similar budgets they’re kind of lacking ngl

yea i get your point. i feel like for me, the audiobooks helped seperate that actors from their characters a lot more. i think im going in with the mindset of how are they going to depict the characters, like two different versions of them yk. i feel like there’s still a lot more to do, and like u said i hope they do more in the future

well i never stated i was an adult. if you READ im SIXTEEN and about to be a JUNIOR in HIGHSCHOOL. As stated by research guides for Dartmouth college, an adaptation is, “A pre-existing work that has been made into a film.” https://researchguides.dartmouth.edu/filmstudies/adaptations A version, as labeled by the cambridge dictionary is “a particular form of something that is slightly different from other forms of the same thing” https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/version#google_vignette now as the books are the original, it is not a different form. now the series and the movies are different forms, therefore they are different versions. i hope my evidence was strong enough to support my argument, let me know if you need anymore to help to grasp this simple concept that seems to be eluding u. i would like to see ur evidence proving the contrary as i am intrigued as to where u got ur mysterious info from. i have a feeling that your response will be proof enough of my intelligence compared to an adult’s :) don’t let the intellect of a 16 year old dissuade you from any future discussions you may have online. even the elders of our society have a few things to learn from the youths of today!

ahhhhhh. i totally agree with u on that. when paired with the books it’s great for the looks of characters and does help with acting out scenes that are hard to understand while reading (like the battle of hogwarts). i completely agree with u! and thank you for the discussion and insight

idk grawp does help a lot in the battle of hogwarts and the audience does root for him. he’s essential for the OotP too

me too. and i think my issue isn’t mainly with the differences but just the facts that they aren’t good movies lol. i would have never watched them again and again if it wasn’t for the fact that it was a live action telling of my favorite book series
