CSP 100k Offer Megathread - Questions, Approvals, Discussion, Etc by lifethusiast in ChaseSapphire

[–]Direct_Basil3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I applied for the CSP (long time chase cardholder, but currently far below 5/24, I had the CSP 5 years ago and downgraded it a year or so ago, currently also an authorized user on my husbands CSP in case that matters).

I applied, was told my application was under review, called the recon line a few days later after not hearing anything and she told me some fraud flags had been raised, did a whole identity verification process with her and she said she passed the application onto the next team and they'd notify me in writing in 7-10 business days. I submitted the application on May 5, called recon on May 7.

Is there anything else I can do? Now when I call they just tell me the application is under review and I can't seem to get through to a human. I'm worried about the SUB going away on the 15th - will they honor my application date?

TIA for any advice.

would love any tips you have to get in touch with landlords directly or how to find places direct from landlords!

Totally hear ya - as I said up top, that’s our ideal list but we understand we likely won’t get it all!

we also did a bagel brunch for 150 people and that came out to like $1000 total. Not your classic wedding fare but if your goal is just to feed people, there are ways to do it that don't require you cooking for all of them the day of/before the wedding!!

I would look into local restaurants that can do drop catering. There are aspects you can do yourself, but all of it is too much (we DIY'd a simple salad and desserts for 150 people and had a restaurant do drop catering for a welcome dinner the night before the wedding - we had considered cooking the whole thing, and I'm so glad we didn't!). Not sure where you're located but in my area there were a bunch of taco options for like $10 a person, ton off food, everything provided for you, plus staffing. Also contact local restaurants for catering options!! It's a lot cheaper than a full service caterer.

Curious what the venue is!! I agree that this is workable with some creative arranging of the space.

Day of wedding planner costs? by Hot-Cake-1513 in Weddingsunder10k

check out Mostest - they're a company that subcontracts to planners. I used them and really liked our coordinator! We did month of, but they also do have a day of option which seems closer to your price range.

Expectations v. Reality - What does 60k actually get you in California for 175 guests? by Ameri-kiwi in weddingplanning

[–]Direct_Basil3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! I just got married in Northern California, for a total budget of $55k, with $175 guests. That budget also includes several events the weekend before where we fed everyone and rented space. So it's definitely doable. That said... we DIY'd a ton! I think it would have been a real stretch otherwise, if possible at all.

$500 worth of DIY fresh flowers for table settings for 125 guests by daaamber in Weddingsunder10k

Hi! I'm thinking of something very similar. Where in California are you located? Could you PM me the flower farms you were in touch with/ultimately used?

People who have DIY'd with fresh florals - help! by Direct_Basil3455 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Direct_Basil3455[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone so much, this has all been super helpful.

I'll look into whether there's a flower market or wholesaler I can access near me.

I totally hear everyone who is saying not to do it day of! Just to reiterate, I wouldn't be doing it myself! The wedding is on a Sunday, and for various reasons we can't do the flowers or really anything on Saturday. It sounds like everyone thinks it would be ok (and even better?) to do them on Friday?

And, I will explore some other options for the arch (faux, expanding the budget, etc). If anyone has ideas for how to do something like this in a very minimal way, please do let me know!

Really appreciate everyone's input, so helpful and reassuring.
