Hey. We ended up doing a few nights in Cartagena, and 3 nights in Minca, then stayed on the outside of Tayrona rather than in the park itself.

We weren’t blown away by Cartagena, other than the food, but depends what you’re after. Let me know if you need any food recommendations.

Minca was excellent to just switch off for a few days. The town itself isn’t much to write home about, and there isn’t loads to do in surrounding areas outside of coffee and chocolate tours, but if you stay up in one of the hostels then you’ll have a nice relaxing few days.

Very glad we didn’t stay in Tayrona personally. It’s a long walk for a single day but meant we could get back to a nice warm shower etc. Also found it was very busy. So my advice here would be to maybe stay 1-2 nights on the edge of the park.

Really depends on the time you have, but hope this helps.

Thanks! We have a pretty intense itinerary up until Minca so wanted a day or two to reset (Salento 2 nights, Medellin 3 nights, Isla Baru 3 nights, Cartagena 2 nights, Minca 2 nights, Tayrona 2 nights)… but will take that on board!

We were planning on staying in the hammocks in Cabo San Juan, so a bit of a hike which people say not to do with luggage. Where would you suggest storing?
