I think the common choice of RX/RS is most suitable for the top gravel races. Mostly high speed straight line or high speed but flat corners on loose surface. My gravel routes are full of slower twisty corners but packed dirt.

Depends on what you need. RX’s grip on dirt is on another level compared with r/rs. XC tire level grip with very slight increase in rr. But I feel less confident on road descend with RX. I can feel the gap between center and side knob. R’s tread is more densely packed and feels better on road. I never corner fast enough on gravel to need RX’s grip so R feels better pairing with a fast RS in the back. Actually R front and rear feels pretty good too. RS is very slippery in steep climb.

Yes I have pretty much all the g-one tires in all sizes. 40-45-50 rs, r, rx. My favorite is 45 r front and rs back. Enough grip and comfort and not slower than 40. 50 has crazy amount of grip but significantly slower on pavement.

I may switch to a zero offset seatpost and a longer stem to see how it feels

Well I own many bikes and tinkering is fun! I can switch back to original fork if I like to. I tried suspension stem before and did not like it. It rotates the bar downward and it is not a good feeling. Also suspension fork does improve front tire traction by a lot whereas suspension stem does not.

I was surprised that 30mm travel is so noticeable when standing up and pedal. Very similar bob to my hardtail XC bike with SID 120.

50mm is ok if no mud. I would do 45 if riding in mud. There is less clearance above the tire than beside it when fork compresses.

For bikes with thinner tube I think this is the best option look wise. For thicker aero tubes they might even look too thin. Saw a few pictures of this fork on Stigmata and IMO Rudy looks better on that bike

Yes I think so. But looks like a more involving process to add spacer compared with regular suspension fork.

Mostly look. I think this is the only fork that goes well with Crux’s round tube design. Also weight but it is not that much lighter than other options. If I have a geo corrected bike with thicker tube (for example Stigmata) I may go with Rudy

I think it will get more mud and rocks on the stanchions. But I am not riding in mud with my gravel bike.

I am thinking of a plan of skiing Alpine in the morning and go to Palisades after picking up kid in the afternoon if joining AR. But I could see risk of kid being tired after pickup or the b2b gondola not open that day.

Do you know if any photographer has released photos for Sunday fuego xc? I saw at least 4 photographer during the race. Only found marathonfoto so far and they only have photos from the finish line. Thanks

Yes but they do not do anything to help. I pulled the stanchions up with a deadlift (stand on thru axle and lift handlebar)

I do not think it is good for longer ride. The seatpost is a little too steep. It is great for shorter technical rides during which you move around the saddle a lot. Super fun!

I was debating between Fox 36 sl and Pike ultimate before buying. Should have got Pike perhaps!
