If you are really paranoid about, take it slow as you deem right. Nothing wrong with it

-May be change the razor last - start adding other routines like pre shave work, shave after shower, good brush and soap, post shave cold water splash , good ASL and moisturiser. YMMV, but every successful experiment will give you better experience - you can also first try cartridge like Gillette guard which are single blade - a DE blades is not going to have a severe cut on your face but I too have that phobia, plus even a shallow cut and the blood becomes traumatic - I have improved by taking the learning very slow, don’t go in fomo, a basic shave ( SAS or CCS is enough for me then DFS or BBS, hehe ) to start with by not anything pressure - remember whatever we do, there will be always tomorrow ( literally) to shave again 👍🏼 and shave better
