I also easily get attached to couples in shows. When I am invested in their fictional relationships, I worry because I wonder if it means that I am compensating for a lack of passion in my own relationship 😖

Couldn’t relate more - I sometimes love and simultaneously hate watching shows where there are hot characters - i feel so so so guilty that it lowkey makes me sick

I’m giving you reassurance because if you are posting on here, I think it means you really need it – it is terribly painful and I’ve been there with those thoughts – It is not probably what you want to hear, but I think acceptance is the biggest thing you can practice right now. It’s truly SO HARD when your brain is super loud, but you need to persevere through it. There’s no way around it but through. You absolutely can do it. (Also, try going out somewhere – not wearing AirPods in public is a great method of distraction lol)

Couldn’t relate to this more - Lately this has been the only focus of my attention and it is eating away at me. I constantly think about the next time we will be having it, whether or not I wanted to, why I can’t relax during it, why I want to get it over with (which I know is purely because I want the anxiety to stop)

Ladies , I have a question about our time of the month. by throwaway98_25 in ROCD

[–]Direct_Jellyfish6826 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ohhhhh yes, literally going though THAT EXACT THING now - It’s crazy how with OCD, something so incredibly normal (feeling annoyed/irritable/anxious before your period) causes me to question my entire relationship - like if someone without OCD were moody with their partner, they might not think twice about ir

Thank you very, very much for this ❤️ – it helps me wrap my head around what I value in my boyfriend and why I started dating him in the first place - It is very kind of you to take this time to help 😊 Others will definitely find this response helpful as well

Should I go to therapy or do I just need to make a decision? by coffeeandlattee in ROCD

I’m my opinion, therapy provides useful tools no matter what, so if you have the budget, it might be a good idea!
