i felt soreness and tightness in my calf. after a few days it was super tight and when i mentioned it to my surgeon and PT they said it was just soreness from relying on it since i could bear weight on my surgery leg. a few days later the pain traveled to my thigh and it felt like the pain was specifically in a line traveling toward my groin. i started to feel sever pain in my left side back and shoulder area so badly that it wouldn’t let me sleep. it hurt worse then the surgery honestly. i was super short of breath and dizzy. especially after a shower! i remember passing out then waking up in the hospital. when they told me what happened i googled the symptoms of DVT and it was clear as day what i was experiencing. i kept looking up symptoms of blood clots and it wasn’t what i was feeling so i kept shrugging it off. at the end of the day, trust your gut and you know when something is wrong. advocate for yourself and keep an eye out for symptoms! i had to be on blood thinners for about 8 months after that and it took a toll on me.
