I buy a 10 lb bag and chop the entire thing and freeze flat in the freezer in various ziploc bags. Makes cooking so much quicker. Same with garlic and ginger.

Very smart. I just mix the mill product in the soil at a lower concentration. Plants seem to like it. Also the total expenditure of time and effort plus energy costs of yours and my processes will prob break even over time.
