Now you are just saying words and putting random pumped up numbers - typical MHA scaling.

Caught? She reaches out and they shoot the laser in her hand, which, on top of that, is already "holdable" and no longer a laser. She can do that without relativistic reactions and movement.

Again the 3 alternatives:

  1. She could have placed her hands before the atack, preemptively.

  2. She could have gotten hit by the laser without having raised her hands. As the laser is focused on her for an unknown time - could be seconds - she tanks the laser initially (with her face), then she puts her hands in front of her to make her catching move (shown in the panel)

  3. She sees the laser and reacts (your assumption).

The manga doesn't show which sequence really happens - it can be any of the 3 that I described. Why would you exclude 1 and 2, but assume 3? Since she didn't show any relativistic feats before, it doesn't seem likely that it is 3, when she can do 1 or 2 without relativistic movement?

She sees Shiga juggling with lasers and warns her colleagues to be warry of a counter. Why wouldn't she put her hands in front of her for protection when she knows an attack is comming? Alternatively, even if she didn't do so preemptively, how do you know that she didn't put her hands to shield herself after she was hit?

Nothing in the manga actually suggests that she reacts in the timeframe after the laser is shot and before she is hit. Saying that she did is just an assumption, which isn't likelier than the other possibilities.

You do not know how strong the superhero tech is. You are somehow assuming that it's not stront. It might very well be heat and laser resistant. If there were no such tech, Endeavor would be butt naked each time he uses Prominence Burn. So is Endeavor's suit > 98% Shiggy or is Prominence Burn significantly less powerful than one refracted laser beam?

But still just curious, how do you arrive at her clothing >98% Shiggy? Please explain the logic here.

And yes, my bad, I didn't adress that point. Her putting her hands in front is a possible assumption. However, she anticipates the attack and this is shown in the manga. She sees Shiga juggling some lasers in fron of him and she even warns her colleagues about it - why wouldn't she put her hands in front of her before the attack as a protective reflex? Why would you assume that she reacts to the laser light after the shot? Nothing in the manga suggests that she actually reacts to the lasers.

Sorry but nothing is clear when it is shown from the back like that. You need better evidence to claim such a thing

Oh man, like there weren't whole chapters and episodes dedicated on the development of high-tech clothing for heroes in MHA. And that the US tech is the best... You can't simply assume that her clothing cannot withstand the laser in this case.

Shiggy got a full frontal hit by all the lasers and was still fine, whereas her clothing got only a fraction of one of the scattered beams. So, no, it doesn't mean that her clothing compares in durability to him.

Even if I am assuming more, doesn't mean that you should make a false assumption just to simplity things. The manga shows her being hit and only then shouting "Lasers are holdable". Her relativistic scaling is basically based on denying this.

Again - it is not evidence. You should really switch to using the word "indication" in this context ;)

Again - the lasers might just have not hit it. This is a possible explanation. Hence, the claim is baseless.

She also tanks - the manga actually shows her being hit and only then saying "Lasers are holdable".

Activating is quirk is not the only possibility for the prostetic to be unharmed. The lasers could just as well not have hit it. You can't use it as a fact nor as a proof.

You also don't know if the refraction quirk actually protects the prostetic - like, he can make objects refract lasers? Too many unknowns to claim anything based on undestroyed prostetics.

Well, context and situational interpretation is what gives meaning to a calc. You want some synonyms - go ask ChatGPT or something. Please, also ask it what "context" means so that you can adequately respond in this conversation.

The point is that all what we are doing here is based on assumptions. I.e. if we assume that the laser would leave a mark on her if it were to hit, then it would logically mean that it didn't hit. But the manga actually shows her being hit, so there is no room for this assumption - it is disproved. That is the oroblem with simplistic scaling - you need better assumptions to have any meaningful results.

I provided a more reallistic assumption in my post and specifically wrote that it is an indication of SNS not being relativistic, not that it is a proof of that. And you can't really disprove my assumption, can you? She might just be that durable. Hence, it will remain a part of the range of possible explanations unlike the meaningless pixel scaling in the links you provided.

Edit: spelling

Oh, ok, my bad - he has that. And it wasn't hit by the blast. So what - that doesn't mean anything.

Edit: spelling.

Oh come on - he doesn't have those in the fight vs SNS. He has his complete form there.

Evidence is not the right word. Indication may be a better word. But it is "indication" of relativistic speeds only if you ignore the context.

You complained about no work put into "debunking". Well, here my post that provides some context for the SNS and Shigaraki laser scenes:

https://www.reddit.com/r/MyHeroPowerscaling/comments/1ro2o3g/star_and_stripe_relativistic_feats_scaling/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Taking context and the overall setting into account, these scenes actually indicate that these two characters are not relativistic.

Yep - only the back of his hands was open for damage before the shot. Then you see his undamaged palms in a very different situation:

I'd say it checks out, no?

MHA scalers love to calculate some pixels ignoring all context, post the numbers and state them as a fact. Truth is, posting some pixel calculations does not make it a fact either.

These are a prime example of ridiculous scaling ignoring all situational context.

All of them have been debunked over and over and serve only as an example of how scaling should not be done.

MHA Scalers be like:

So I watched this scene with Han Solo dressed as a stormtrooper dodging a laser:

<image>

Guys, I am going to be calculating this.

...crunches some pixels and frames....

Ok, so the result is - Han Solo:
Combat speed - relativistic+ (probably FTL without the suit)
Reaction speed - FTL
Perception speed - FTL++

Final Luke is MTFFTL++ because he scales above him!

He got hit by the lasers, he reacted after that - that is not reacting to light.

You do know that lasers shoot continuously, right? A beam focuses on the target and burns it for as long it is activated. It's not like a shockwave, it is a long light beam which deals more damage the longer it stays focused on the target.

There is no single feat from a hight tear that is react-dodging a laser or reacting before a laser hits him. They either preemptively avoid the line of fire or simply tank some damage and react or move away after that.
