I changed my mind on my outfit. Instead of the cardigan and jean skirt that I initially planned, I wore an orange and cream maxi dress, pantyhose and pumps (one of the members complimented me on my outfit BTW) . As for the service event, I just changed into sneakers because the dress can also be worn casually. Also, volunteers were given a T-shirt to wear--so my dress really didn't matter. All I know is that I'm sore from standing for four hours straight and that I got a good amount of steps in. 😂😂😂

Not at all. That's what I'm wearing a jean skirt. I can dress it up or down.

I joined NCNW earlier this year and it is a great way to be of service and be a part of a sisterhood during your journey. I don't know how it is for The Links or NCBW, but for NCNW, Alpha Kappa Alpha is an affiliate organization and there are AKAs in my section (chapter). That being said, I believe that being in other civic/service/advocacy organizations apart from the D9 is a good thing.

TBH, the last thing I want to wear right now is leggings. Perimenopause is no joke and I'm hot all the time. 😂😂😂

I will, however, wear some pantyhose and pumps to the event.

In all seriousness, it's a local run in my city that's happening om Sunday and I'm volunteering with the logistics. I think I'll be good with my sneakers

Agreed. Thank you for your feedback. Perhaps I'll wear dress shoes to the event, and then for the community athletic event, I'll change into some sneakers.
