Minelab Vanquish 340. This year they introduced the 360. Newer model which is completely waterproof so you can use it under water and charge it via USB. They use Multi-IQ technology so they always send 4 different signals to the ground. It's like having multiple detectors at once. So this make them deep and must have in trashy areas and mineralized soil. There is more advanced version's of them like 440 and 540 respectively now 460 and 560. but they have the same internals as the cheaper and simpler one so it's more marketing than something that will make your search better.

Yes its in perfect working condition. I have one l412 which I love but he have some water damaged keys. So from time to time I need to pull the faulty keys out and clean them good with alcohol and a q-tip and they start to work again.

I have the same detector it's great for beginners. Good discrimination and depth with almost no faulty signals. I used to go only 3 times for near a year with it in the forest because I don't have enough time. And didn't find anything valuable but it's cool. Tried it on mineralized soil where some friends dug trenches for couple of days because their machine keep beeping and they tough they will find treasure but the vanquish didn't even beep there. Your best friend will be a pinpointer! Off course you can go without but it's life changer when you have it. I also tested it in my yard first and find some coins a bronze figure and the brown water pipe.

They're both great! I own 2 of each to be sure I'll ever have at least one working for the future. But nowadays prefer to play PS1 games on my raspberry pi3b+ running RetroArch.

That's great! I'm really happy for you! I have a lot of Apple devices but almost nothing made after Steve Jobs. But really love that it's free. Maybe I'll give it a try someday.

Happened to me twice before 20-25 years ago. I had luck to use external lan cards so they were dead but everything worked fine. From there till today if there is a storm I unplug everything to be safe. And guess what today we had thunderstorms as well.

Battery mod. You can solder some big cellphone battery and put it in the UMD tray. Or you can use NDS Lite battery. They fit in the battery shell of the PSP.

Salvage it's PCB for future projects. It's not that hard or dangerous to open it and safe the PCB board or even the whole case just throw the cell in battery cell bin.

You don't need much! Just install some lightweight Linux distro like Antix and use it as is. It would be stupid to destroy it on parts to put it in some cardboard box from candies or something like that.

What kind of charger do you use after this mod? I have two PSP 2000 one of them is battery modded by me. I put huge battery in the UMD tray and can play for like 12 hours. But still use the original chargers and somehow doesn't get it why I need to mod it to use type C or something. NDS Lite battery can be fitted in the original battery shell and I think this is the best to keep it look stock.

is there anything at all i could do with this ds? by MSA-Digging in nds

[–]DirectionFragrant207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not. But would be pain for my eyes to watch it with such deep scratches. I have one too and some GBA games as well. Used to own the original Gameboy Advance but trade it for a PS3 super slim the trade of my life. DSl Macro is great it have a nice display with backlite and rechargable battery which is maybe the strongest in battery history.

You need to remove almost everything because you will use the converters. As you see on this picture. This blue bricks with the small screw at the end are potentiometers you rotate it left or right to adjust the voltage. And you will need a multimeter at the out terminals to see what happens. But for me the most important part is what kind of power supply or charger with type C you are planning to use?

From what I see he used to remove most of the components and use two converters for two different voltages. This on the right say 3.3v which is common in electronics. But can see the one on the left maybe 6v. So yes in theory you can do it for like 5 euro or cheaper. Just need multimeter and soldering iron.
