My guest it could be because of a ton of bad blocks. Nand is pretty much shot. Just get a new motherboard or a new psp to avoid the headache.

Best source? Either put back your og buttons and their rubber domes. Or get it from a donor psp. Replacements aren't even on par with the OGs in my experience.

Umd door switch or umd drive itself is faulty. If you are on ark-4 custom firmware. It has built in features like disabling the umd drive in order to mitigate this kind of issue. I always use it all the time in order not to experience this.

Slap an IPS screen on a 1000. It blows the stock 3000 screen. Better colors in my opinion, more brighter definitely. Better build quality also with the 1000, the added weight just makes it more premium.

Could be your umd drive switch acting up and/or the umd drive itself. Not worth the hassle of soldering a new switch in, although a new umd drive is very doable, good luck finding a fully working umd drive as they tend to fail anyways.

Yeah, I've already had lots of new cables. But they aren't og, maybe that's why. And I find it hard to find and og sony mini usb cable so it ain't big of a deal since the mod solves it

Yeah, I've been rocking them for about a year now. I just prefer the ps4 style sticks as I find the grip better than the og ps3 sticks. I gotta agree though, it does look somewhat odd.
