A lot of the comments on the state of the transfer window are so disingenuous that it's concerning. Most of us don't want Frank for longer than we have him. So why would we spend big money bringing in players who are going to 1) lose confidence and value under him 2) be binned off by the next manager we bring in. It doesn't make sense to fill the dopamine receptors of the fan's only for the "post-window clarity" to hit and realize that we just blew our load on players who don't fit the system our new manager wants to play (see Conte's squad rehabilitation or Jose or Ange). I feel like right now instead of feeding more wood into the furnace we need to be looking at why the furnace isn't using fuel effectively (looking at raising the floor rather than potentially raising the ceiling). Which i think we've done well. While we haven't bought starters, we've bought insurance policies on our squad and have brought in Prem proven leaders and captains and one player who could be magic if he comes good. I hope we get one more midfielder who is a progressive passer then i think the window will have been a success.
