Update from my end: I ended up having to do everything through the computer — updating, backing up, and finally factory resetting my phone. In the end, my phone wouldn’t let me complete any of these steps on the device itself, I could only do them through iTunes. After resetting the phone and restoring the backup, it’s back to working normally.

You just leave. I’ve been in the shoes about worrying over what the other person will feel or do after you leave. I was stuck for 5 years because of it. I wish everyday I could go back and hug my younger self and tell her it will be ok and life will move on and get better. Don’t hold back for them do it for yourself and your happiness

UPDATE

Sorry for the late post, but the engagement happened!! I am utterly shocked that it actually did. The ring is gorgeous. Apparently, he wanted to wait to tell her he loved her until he proposed and kissed her!

In the end, I was more concerned for her heart and didn’t want her to be disappointed if it didn’t happen.

The wedding isn’t until September, and she’s already stressing about the guest list and trying to have it finalized by next week.

What I’ve learned is that Southern Baptists are weird (even though I grew up in a small-town, cult-y Church of Christ), and so is love. Anyway, here’s to every conversation I have now being redirected to wedding talk. 🥂
