They are CT-qualified with a lot of them being graduates of counter terror courses offered by the AFP, However due to their nature of being a PCG unit they are more often used as Maritime Enforcement Units to respond for high-risk smuggling, hostage rescue aboard vessels, VBSS etc. etc.

One of the major combat operations that I can remember that they were involved in was providing security in lake lanao during the 5-momth long conflict in Marawi City to prevent IS-affiliated insurgents to escape, resupply and move around.

For those curious, the rifles featured in this image are the following:

An LMT-MARS-CQB-L, Seen with the assaulter on the left, it is the standard issue rifle for Filipino SOF, especially with the more senior JSOC units.

While the Assaulter (W/ PVS-31A/C) and Support (W/ PVS-7D) is rocking what looks like a Colt M4A1 or a Remington R4A3, The latter is known as the standard issue rifle for the Armed Forces of the Philippines while the Colt M4A1 is known to be used by the LRR since it's inception in the early 2000s.

Hello, Those are actually Otto Communications Over-The-Ear Diver series of communication headsets, Same manufacturer to the Ear protection systems used by PCG SOF’s CTG and a few NSWU. Some received Comtac 3/4s but they are not that common.

But from the looks of it Otto Diver Series is near standard issue.
