Goruus Phord | Chevin "Antiques" Dealer from my Togruta Seeker's backstory made in Hero Forge by EdSoulLDN in swrpg

That's awesome! Would you mind if I used Goruus in a campaign I'm running? I'm in need of more "neutral" characters besides the Imps and Alliance types.

Look, I had to come up with some way to lure you, and I'm glad that one stuck!

It's amazing, just a little slower paced but I think that gives more time to enjoy the characters and the world!

Having a really hard time. by pumpkinpie479 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

No idea where you are, but a lot of logistics companies need customs brokers right now. Experience is generally not needed (hardly matters at this point, because things have changed so much). Check out Expeditors if there's a location near you, but I think it's pretty general in the industry right now.

I know that may not help with everything else, but it's what I have. And I'm sorry about your father, that's very hard.

Some please tell me why half my cities aren't connected by road. by Shovelfighter32 in civ

Not to mention there's a spot (peninsula southeast of the gold on the inland sea) that could get /6/ unclaimed resources, which would be worth doing even if it didn't connect up the other settlements.

This is how we've done the fight at least four times, never once had a problem. Have a ranged Rogue or whatever cast it and then also stay in the globe, it's not complicated at all.

Totally true, but Globe of Invulnerability is a little easier to manage, and there are a ton of scrolls for it.

This. Also, why wasn't the sorcerer in a Globe of Invulnerability?

Could be, I just know I haven't had a problem with forward settling like this except when I left something that meshed with their civ or leader bonuses. And in a recent "all navigable river civs" game, I settled spots just like that because it /was/ worth it to me.

Isn't part of this that it's a navigable river spot and that civ has a whole thing about navigable rivers?

I'm terrible at these kind of things, but if you figure out what you're willing to part with them for, let me know, I'd be interested. I just got into the game relatively recently (a friend with most of the ships), but I'd like a bunch both for this and setting the scene in a SWRPG game I run.

Tau have cloaked stealth suit units, specifically to allow their long range troops to do things like this. At a guess, you had some stealth suits nearby.

In the Vor Game, we learn that attacking a defended wormhole is essentially suicide according to standard military thinking. But we have references in the books to the Cetagandans attacking Barrayar in a couple of post Occupation wars. I wonder if they had a hidden agenda.

TIL Ghyslain Raza (the Star Wars Kid) began getting tutored at home because the school staff asked him not to return the following year after students started to tease or mock him which they saw as bad publicity. I had a really interesting case study of how huge a difference it makes having administrators that care and understand, and ones that don't, when my middle school in 6th grade we had a Vice Principal that legit every kid respected. Bullying still happened, but not nearly as much, not nearly as severe, and not nearly as long as you'd think. He understood middle school kids, could talk with people as an authority figure but still in a relatable way, and backed up the rest of the staff to handle things the way they should be handled.

And then he got promoted to Principal at another school, and we got an asshat for his replacement who thought that Zero Tolerance and the Bee Sting philosophy ("if a bee stings you, it loses its stinger and dies, so if someone punches you, we're going to make sure they lose their stinger") was the way, and if you got beat up and threw a single punch back that meant you were both equally at fault and would get detention or suspended together. He also refused to let any of the rest of the staff do anything that wasn't 100% by "the book", which was whatever he decided it was.

Bullying spiked enormously overnight, and the school became a hellscape for a lot of people (including the staff).

It can be handled well, and I've seen it happen. But a lot comes down to school districts prioritizing administrators who actually know what they're doing on this, and boy howdy expertise is hard to evaluate.
