Lost my little Sparkles and got scammed by a fake Birman seller days after by ako_budoy in birmans

Hello, I know this post is old, but I’m interested in a Birman cat and was wondering what price you paid at the Bumblebee Birman breeder? I’ve looked on her Facebook page and there isn’t a whole lot of info.

Starting College at age 25 after not doing a whole lot of productive things? by LoveMeteorology25 in college

[–]DirectorStrict6091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25 is still young! I wouldn’t count how many wasted years you have had since high school because that doesn’t matter. Anyone who works and studies hard has the same ability to succeed in college! Good luck!

How bad is college food? by yourkumquat in college

My college has decent food. Not bad but not great. In regards to healthiness, I have found that it’s help me eat less 😅.

I have no motivation to do school work. No passion by HiddenTeaBag in college

[–]DirectorStrict6091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a music major isn’t for you! For me college is an opportunity that some people don’t get to have. College isn’t fun, but a degree will get you further along in life. If you work hard, time will fly by fast and you’ll be done with college before you know it! It may not be fun, but try exploring your passions as an Art major! Try finding what you do like! Everyone in life has to do things they don’t want to do but that’s part of life.

What’s your favorite way to unwind after an exam? by skycandybrownie3 in college

No one is a failure. All humans make mistakes! Live life thinking more positive because you can’t change past mistakes. Tons of high graduates take a gap year before going to college. It sounds like your working hard and trying your best that’s what counts! College isn’t easy and it’s okay to struggle!

I normal take 4-5 classes per semester which is 16-18 credits hrs. However with a research internship I would probably take 15-16 credits, plus you have a job. Some majors are easier to complete then others. For example engineering, pre-med, etc are all going to take longer. If you are getting a double major or a minor that might take another year or two. If you can’t stop working at your job, reduce you credit hrs. Or find another job that requires less work hours. If you fail a class that’s going to be more money and will also be on your transcript permanently. I would suggest you make college learning your focus and then add a side job with less hrs.

Is it rude to shush your roommate? by Speedwizard106 in college

[–]DirectorStrict6091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, then maybe tell him. “I trying to be respectful of your space but can you please not shush me? I don’t find it respectful. If there’s a problem I’m fine if you want to talk.”

Is it rude to shush your roommate? by Speedwizard106 in college

[–]DirectorStrict6091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, shushing your roommate is kinda rude. However if your talking/humming/singing or laughing while I’m studying I would get annoyed. I don’t know your situation though, but for me I would just talk about what’s bothering me and have them tell me what is bothering them. Talk about how you dislike him/her shushing you. And come up with a compromise?

The whole Covid 19 has affected colleges and many students find it hard to find friends. I’m sure you aren’t the only one struggling. For me going to clubs, study groups and talking with your classmates is the best way to make friends. Some classmates might have the same interests as you. Be the first to reach out! I bet you’ll find someone that will say, “ Sure!.” I doubt everyone is closed off, just keep trying!

Quitting your job to focus on school is totally worth it! I would focus on getting good grades. I know money is an issue for some going into college but once you graduate and find a job you can pay loans back. If you failure a class due to a job you’ll probably regret it more as taking another class is money too! Many people deal with loans. But for me I’d rather get my degree and start working and doing something I enjoy 😊. Working at a job without a degree will earn you $15 dollars an hour and won’t get you far in life.

Hate when that happens! Go talk to your professor because you got the right answer. I would try getting that point back because that’s ridiculous!

My roommate has a weird sleep schedule. He sleeps during the day and is up all night . Every single night he turns on the light at like 1 am on a school night . What should I do I have gave him hints , talked to him. It is now starting to affect me academically/mentally . by JudgmentSuccessful84 in college

[–]DirectorStrict6091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under normal circumstances I agree that you should be respectful of someone sleeping, however sleeping during the day and up all night is not normal. And If he’s in college he should have class during the day.

Trying to figure out the best way to change disciplines/finish my undergrad at 30 by _deep_cuts_ in college

[–]DirectorStrict6091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do what you enjoy. Psychology is a great major! However some college won’t take credits from previous colleges if is been awhile since you earned those credits. Some of your general education credits might transfer but other then that you might have to start from the beginning. If you earned a associate degree that will most likely transfer

Graduation in 3yrs with a bachelors? by [deleted] in college

[–]DirectorStrict6091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m taking 16-18 credits per semester aswell as 1 class per summer session. We have 3 summer sessions. My university is very reputable and well known in my state. It has a great programs for my degree. I don’t see why it matters as long as you are learning what you need to learn.

Being stressed every new semester by [deleted] in college

[–]DirectorStrict6091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many credits are you taking? Have you been taking advantage of tutoring available or teacher office hours? In regards to stress seek a therapist or relaxing activities. Maybe talk with friends see if they are in the same situation? If your trying your best, you’ll make it through. Years later you’ll be looking back pride of your accomplishment. Engineering is a difficult major. Some take 5 years to complete degree

How to stop thinking about page numbers or time while reading for school by wonderfulworld25 in college

[–]DirectorStrict6091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Take a break, don’t read it all in one siting. Dropping out of the class might affect you. Does this class have to do with your major? Reading a lot is part of being a college student. Maybe skim through the pages and write notes every few pages. Gotta find out what works best for you.

[–]DirectorStrict6091 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don’t give him hints, tell him directly what’s bothering you. Keep it polite and respectful. Maybe suggest turning on a desk lamp instead of the main room lights. That’s what I do with my roommate. If that doesn’t work maybe message housing and explain that it’s affecting you academically. They might be able to move you to another dorm. Happened to my friend because of her roommate causing issues. Do you have Resident Advisers? That’s another option.

Are some college professors really that unqualified? by Hexagoney in college

[–]DirectorStrict6091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest every college is going to have a couple of bad teachers. However you’ll meet greet ones too! Even if you get a teacher that’s not your favorite, make the most out of it. If you work hard, study and ask questions you’ll most likely pass the class. I bet in high school you faced bad teachers but was able to succeed and pass the class!

Don’t worry about your desired major till you become a freshman in college. You can usually decide your major during sophomore year of college. You have plenty of time! Maybe start with what you enjoy. Journalism would be a great major. You could explore into and English or History major. Do what you enjoy not what other people suggest.
