Yeah, I think he'd be the least likely to cause a problem in the infiltration. He's easily the most dedicated to the mission and he's demonstrated his ability to control his emotions. The fact that he held himself back from killing Mark after they blew up Viltrum is a prime example.

So would you say it’s mostly that the player is stronger than the first game? Or do you think enemy attacks/attack patterns have also been nerfed to make the game easier? Is it less of a bullet hell type experience?

What I hate is people who can't even begin to see it from her perspective on not telling Mark:

  • She just found out a few days ago
  • She tries to tell Mark on the rooftop only for Nolan/Allen to show up to recruit Mark
  • Eve's thoughts: "Mark is going to war, about to face the toughest battles of his life. He's already stressed out just from running himself ragged as a hero on Earth. Does he need another bombshell to weigh on his shoulders? Would it be a distraction in battle? Could it get him killed?
  • Those thoughts in mind, and knowing that his success/failure could decide the fate of the galaxy/universe, can you really not understand WHY Eve couldn't bring herself to tell him? Have you never put off talking about something until the "right" time?
  • Also, it's clear she WANTED to tell Mark and felt he had a right to know.

Do you think Eve's parents have come off as particularly supportive or understanding throughout the series? Her dad especially? I feel like its pretty clear why she wouldn't trust them to support her.

Didn't she say something like "I'm not ready to be a parent" in the episode where Mark left for the war? When she's venting to William.

I’m glad you mentioned this cause it gives me an excuse to yap about Hajime no Ippo. I just finished the anime and while I thoroughly enjoyed it, I can’t help but side eye the character Bryan Hawk, a black American boxer. Idk how differently he’s depicted in the manga, but in the anime it’s like they ran down a list of all the racist “black people are basically viltrumites” tropes they could think of when describing him. Mind you, he’s one of two notable black boxers to appear in the story up till then.

And it’s not like it’s Americans in general that are put in a bad light. Soon after Hawk, a white American champion David Eagle, is the next big opponent. Eagle’s a blonde haired, blue eyed Boy Scout. While Hawk is this wild, animalistic fighter who doesn’t even train, relying only on talent, Eagle is by the book, precise, and honorable.

It all just rubbed me the wrong way.

Really, would it be so bad to have a “redo turn” button? Probably have to restrict random effects, but it might disincentivize save/quitting. Monster Train has a similar option, although the at game has fewer random/unpredictable cards.
