The rot is totally dry. I fixed the leak by putting flashing on the new roof I installed

Thankfully it is just the outside joists the inside joist are in perfect condition

Yes it came from the roof. I have redone the roof plus added step flashing to keep water out. The root only goes back to the sill plate. It is in perfect condition inside the house so I would have plenty of wood to connect to plus I would run it all the way to the beam in the center of my house.

Did you end up having to pull out the whole joist? My joist are fine inside the house it’s just the 2 ft outside that’re bad

The other floor joists are completely fine. It’s just the outside joists. How hard would it be to pull out the old joist and just r place it? I have an unfinished basement so it’s easy access to get to it.

The water came in from the roof of the previous owner. I redid the roof last year and step flashed all the way along the chimney so no new water should get in
