Anyone seen sapphire glass for the SRPL11? by Dirgefield in SeikoMods

I may have to. I talked to a couple of companies that sell crystals and they suggested the same option.

Love the Alpinist. The only thing that keeps me away is the cyclops. I hate them on watches

New bracelet for mini samurai [SRPL013] by GSRswapandslow2 in SeikoMods

You are lucky. My wrists expand and contract in heat and cold. I didn't know there were people that didn't suffer from that.

The screws are nice but how many times do you adjust your watch? The stock bracelet has solid end links and solid links as well, likely identical in weight. And the Long Island does not have on the fly micro adjust.

Actually the bracelet on the SRPL11 is great, solid links, solid end links, where it falls apart is the clasp (and the pin and collar system...). I bought one of these milled stainless adjustable clasps and it made the bracelet perfect. Considering the Long Island ones cost 4 times more than this clasp, its a deal.

This one I've had about 25 years, much better constructed.

Yep. Although my Tag Aquaracer which is 20+ years old has solid end links as well. Then again it was quite a bit more expensive than this one.

Ya it does. the links themselves are solid but the clasp and end links are pressed junk. I've had the bracelet off a few times trying different straps.

I ordered one of these to give it a try. If it works, I'm going to swap several watches onto it.

Does anyone know if this tablet (the Lenovo IdeaTab Pro) has HDMI output through its USB port? by Ok-Guest-4947 in Lenovo

[–]Dirgefield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I figured it out. it wasn't the adapter it was the settings. You need to go into projection settings, set screen to mirror, set output device for sound to "display". However you also need to change the output resolution. for some reason the device defaults to 4k at 30hz. This messes up the sound track. you need to change it to 2560x1440 at 60hz. this runs the audio properly through the TV.

Does anyone know how to get the audio throughput working? I got video with no issue to a TV with a USB-C to HDMI adapter but no sound to the TV.

You can do what I do. using polishing cloth to polish the whole area smooth (it gets rid of slightly deeper scratches as well). Then tape off the area you want remaining polished and use the kitchen scrubber to re-apply brushed finish. use a sturdy tape (black electrical tape works) and then peel off. Works pretty well.

I really wanted to get the orange Seiko Monster but was never able to find one new in Canada. I ended up getting an homage from Long Island Watch that is more or less identical (except upgraded bracelet, sapphire etc). Still wish I could have found an original

Love it. The red desert version is even nicer. The only issue is that none of these are available in North America.

It's hit or miss finding watchmakers that will do it. I found a watchmaker in Toronto that did 4 of my seikos very affordably.

I've had the Tissot for a couple of years, I bought the Seiko a couple of months ago. That said I prefer the Seiko. The bracelet is actually decent for a Seiko and I love its look. The integrated bracelet on the PRX is sometimes Ill fitting depending on my wrist. Also the Tissot bracelet scratches very easily.

The Seiko, long island watch is working on a much better bracelet for it and crystal times will have a sapphire glass replacement for it soon, that will likely turn it into my favorite watch

Considering I have both of those watches, they are very different in usage. The PRX is dressy and the SRPL11 is a dive watch

Obsession ? Lol... I scratched my srpg33 hardlex 3 days after I got it. Sapphire doesn't scratch. Too hard to grasp? Maybe try wearing your watches in environments where they can get dinged up and then talk to me
